Tataodi Ancient Village is located one kilometer east of Yayang Town, Taishun County, and is a settlement of the Ji family. The layout of the ancient village follows the ancient Feng Shui doctrine, facing east and west, with a gentle slope of hills behind it, covered with lush forests and bamboo, verdant and lush. According to the 'Ji Family Genealogy', the descendants of the Ji family chose to move to Tataodi not only because of the beautiful natural environment but also because the area is surrounded by mountains and water, has a broad territory, fertile soil, and sweet spring water, suitable for the descendants to live and thrive. The Ji family extensively built houses in Tataodi, and by the mid-Qing Dynasty, a village with a history of more than 300 years had formed. Among these buildings, the oldest is Xia Cuo, which was the first set of housing built by the ancestors of the Ji family here, with a strong Ming Dynasty style. Unlike other buildings, the gate tower of Xia Cuo adopts the 'crooked gate and straight hall' French style. Now the ancient houses have been transformed into Xia Cuo Homestay, and the lobby of Yata Homestay in Taishun, besides the dining area, has also become a public entertainment place where various art forms such as tea ceremony, flower arrangement, calligraphy, guzheng, and Hanfu experience converge. The door and window settings are picturesque, especially suitable for photography. Drinking tea, chatting, enjoying the view, soaking in the hot springs, and watching the stars at night are all good choices here.
