Takayama

It is an old traditional Japanese market close to Shirakawago, the old village. I love the old buildings dominated by the woods. There is also a red bridge with a river just like the one in Nikko, Tochigi. Worth it to stop by when you travel to Shirakawago! It is indeed a great place where you can find stores offering hand gifts from Japan specialities, including the foods and souvenirs! I also found Moslem friendly snacks over there! As Shirakawago, you will be most likely enjoying the snow fall. All in all, you can enjoy both traditional market and snow!
