Safranbolu, also known as the City of Saffron, is a small town that flourished during the Ottoman Empire. It still preserves over 2,000 brick and wooden houses from the Ottoman period and was listed as a World Heritage Site in 1994. From the observation deck at the top of Safranbolu, you can see the entire town. In the old town, the streets are winding and the cobblestone roads undulate.
