Zhangjiajie National Park

Famous for its spires that inspired the Avatar movie. Zhangjiajie National Park - otherwise known as “the avatar mountains” - is a ridiculous collection of tall spires that are easily accessible and visitable in a day. Located near Tianmen Mountain, the park is full of hiking trails, cable cars, and a famous elevator. While extremely popular among domestic tourists, heading to the park outside of a national holiday should give you enough space to enjoy parts of it to yourself al- just don’t hesitate to head off the beaten path and down some of the smaller trails. The park also comprises a bus system to get you around, though I definitely recommend grabbing some drinks and snacks before you go just in case. #naturalwonders#culturalattractions#hiking#nationalpark
