An antique and exquisitely small museum

The Xianyang Museum includes the Wenmiao Museum and the Ancient Ferry Site Museum. The museum is housed in a Wenmiao (Temple of Literature) that was reconstructed from the original built in the fourth year of Hongwu in the Ming Dynasty (AD 1371). The museum's precious collections include: jade immortals on horseback, jade amulets, jade figurine heads, painted pottery commanding figurines, and King Lu's tiger tally from the Han Dynasty; gold and silver inlaid tripod, Anyi Xiaoguan bell, and dragon-knobbed Chunyu from the Warring States period; Tang Dynasty chased gold ewer, tri-colored single-humped camel, tri-colored horse, etc. The most famous are the three thousand painted terracotta warriors and horses unearthed from the burial site accompanying Emperor Liu Bang's Changling Mausoleum.
