It is another city that should be included in the plan for those who travel to the north of China. 1) 🏘️🏤 Yanji is the capital city of the Yanbian Korean Nationality Administration, so it is not surprising that everything looks Korean, both the food and other cultures (located in Jilin Province). 2) 📌📷📍Where to go? 2.1) 🌇 网红墙 (Huang Hongqiang) - 🧱📸 It is a building full of colorful Korean billboards. It is a popular check-in point. It is opposite Yanbian University. - 🥂🌃🍱🍚 This place is full of Korean restaurants. It is delicious and very cheap. And above all, the young men and women look very stylish. - 🚗 Travel: Taking a taxi is the most convenient. Tell the driver "Huang Hongqiang" or show him a picture of the building. - 🚿 We stayed in this building, very convenient. 🛏️ 2.2) 🍓🦞 Suishang Shichang Morning Market (水上市场) - 🍘🍢 A very Korean-style morning market. There are so many fresh food, dried food, fruits, and snacks that it's dazzling. We really like this kind of market because we get to experience the real community lifestyle. - 🕔 The market opens around 05:00 and closes no later than 09:00. People who don't like waking up early may not like this. - 🚗 Travel: Taking a taxi is the most convenient. We took a taxi from our accommodation in Hongqiang for about 5 CNY. 2.3) 🗺️👮Tumen Port, a city on the border of North Korea 🇰🇵 - 🏳️🏴 Tumen is a border city not far from Yanji. From here, we can see the North Korean side (using a coin-operated telescope will give a clearer view 🇰🇵) - ☂️ On the day we went, it rained quite heavily, but we braved it and brought an umbrella. It was very cold and the atmosphere was very quiet. - 🔭 At this point, we can pay 25 CNY to go up to the viewpoint on the building, but the way up and down is very steep. The rain made the stairs even more slippery. Condition: - 🚗 Travel: - 🚄 Take the train from Yanjiwest Station -> Tumenbei Station for about 15 minutes. - 🚌 From Tumenbei Station, take bus no. 9. We got off at the last station and then walked back to Tumen Port. The fare was 2 CNY (when we went, they only accepted cash and WeChatPay). - 🚙 On the way back to Tumenbei Station, we took a taxi back for 20 CNY. 2.4) 🍁🍂 The time we went was late autumn, but it rained heavily 🌧️ for two days, so we didn't go much. We focused on eating and walking near our accommodation. But there are other places to go, such as - 🌲🌿 Mount Ershan National Park (帽儿山国家森林公园). This is a pity. It was raining, so it was inconvenient to walk and see nature. - 🎎 Korean Village You can rent a Hanbok to take beautiful photos. It's very popular among Chinese people, but this is not our style, so we'll pass. - 🪘 Yanbian Museum Learn about the history, traditions, and culture of the Korean ethnic group in China. 3) Traveling to Yanji 🚙🚄🚗 3.1) 🚅 Traveling to Yanji: We took the high-speed train from Changchun Station to Yanji West Station, which took about 2:30 hours. 3.2) 🚏 Traveling to Yanji: There are buses, but after checking briefly on Amap, it took quite a long time. We mainly used taxis, which meant standing on the side of the road and hailing them.
