Celebrating the New Year: A Leisurely Two-Day Tour in Yongjia

There's no festive atmosphere in the city, so at the invitation of my best friend, on the third day of the Lunar New Year, I took my parents and grandparents for a drive to Yongjia, Wenzhou to celebrate the New Year✌ To ensure that all team members could participate in all activities, the itinerary was very relaxed, not tiring, and included plenty of eating, playing, and touring😀 🌟👉Yongjia, the fourth largest county in Zhejiang Province and the largest county in Wenzhou, is home to the famous Nanxi River scenic area, as well as a number of large and small ancient villages scattered along the river. △ ————————△ 1⃣⛰Shimao Rock🌸～'Seeking the beauty along the creek, we come upon the Shimao Rock' 🔸The Nanxi River scenic area has many attractions that are spread out. Considering that we have many elderly people with us, we chose Shimao Rock, which is the flattest and most suitable for leisurely strolls, with an entrance fee of 50 yuan. 🔹Different from the experience of rafting on the Nanxi River several years ago in summer, the water level is low in winter. Although the color palette is more desolate, the exposed riverbed has become the place where everyone lingers and plays the longest. 🔺Shimao Rock is a solitary peak formed by a volcanic eruption over a hundred million years ago. It rises from the valley and resembles a ship's mast, hence the name. The pure water is like an emerald belt, winding and turning, sometimes narrow, sometimes wide, sometimes slow, sometimes rapid, and walking into it, one can truly feel the magical power of nature. △ ————————△ 2⃣⛩Meitan Ancient Village🌸∽'Old friends bring chickens and millet, inviting me to their farm home' 🔸My best friend's home is in Meitan Village, Hesheng Town, formerly known as Meipo Village, the fifth batch of historical and cultural villages in Zhejiang, together with Cangpo Village, they are known as the two pearls on the banks of the Nanxi River, with the reputation of 'Cangpo of literature, Meipo of martial arts'. 🔹The entire village has the surname Gu, with many martial arts families, and retains many old houses. The most worth visiting are the Meitan Gu Residence and Meitan Mansion, built during the Ming and Qing dynasties, respectively. The architecture is exquisite, the door art is refined, and the brick carvings and window patterns are very beautiful. If interested, you can also visit the Gu family ancestral hall, Yi Huai public ancestral hall, and Long Dian ancestral hall, as well as the ancient cypress tree that is over 900 years old... 🔺The main thoroughfare into the village is another scene altogether, with several Dingbu bridges spanning the Nanxi River. On one side of the bridge, villagers sit in twos and threes, chatting and sharing experiences and anecdotes from the past year; on the other side, the continuous Yandang Mountain range extends into the distance, with no end in sight. △ ————————△ 3⃣🍱Ling Shang Ren Jia🌸∽'Above the ridge, there are white clouds, and deep within, there are homes' 🔸Located in Lingshang Village, Hesheng Town, it is an ancient village with a history of over 400 years, more precisely, a rural tourism spot, with 30 hotels densely arranged along the mountain, quite imposing. 🔹Below the iron chain bridge at the entrance of the village, there used to be a small waterfall, which has been changed into the Longlin Dam at some point. It is the Year of the Dragon, and a visit to the Longlin Dam is a must when coming to Lingshang. 🔺The local specialty dish that is full of flavor is roasted whole lamb, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, not greasy, attracting many tourists who come to Nanxi River to taste. Remember: you must book in advance❗️ And you must arrive early‼️ △ ————————△ 4⃣🛌Xishang Yun Kai Homestay🌸∽'When the creek rises, new birds come; when the clouds part, distant mountains appear' 🔻The homestay is located on the lower water line of Meitan Village, next to Meitan Primary School. The homestay offers coffee and dining, with barbecue and karaoke at night. Nestled against the mountains and by the water, the air is fresh, quiet and comfortable, and you can even see the twinkling stars✨
