Lleida Seu Vella Cathedral Catedral de la Seu

From Barcelona Sants train station, it takes three hours to take the suburban trains R3, R13, and R14, or one hour by high-speed train to reach Lleida. Spain has now launched a policy of free rides on suburban trains. For a deposit of 20 euros, you can buy a train ticket and ride the suburban trains from Barcelona to Lleida an unlimited number of times, which includes the R3, R13, and R14 trains. If you ride the train 16 times, you can also get back the 20 euro deposit. Although the three-hour travel time is a bit long, compared to the normal fare of 30 euros, this is a good choice if there is no urgent matter.
The former Cathedral of Lleida (Catalan: Catedral de la Seu Vella de Lleida) is located in Lleida, Spain. It is the cathedral of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Lleida and the oldest church in the province of Lleida. It is also the only church in Catalonia that combines Romanesque and Gothic architecture.
In 1203, a person named Pere de Coma designed and directed the construction of the earliest building of the cathedral. Since then, the construction of the church has continued throughout the reign of King Jaime I, and the architectural style of that time has been preserved to some extent in today's Seville Cathedral. The construction of the cathedral was finally completed in 1431.
In 1707, the city of Lleida was occupied by Philip V and the church was used as a barracks. In 1918, the church was listed as a national historical monument and was restored in 1950. The church combines Romanesque and Gothic architectural styles, but has not been influenced by Islamic architecture. It is rectangular in shape, like a Latin cross. The most striking feature of the church is the octagonal tower, with a base diameter of 12.65 meters, a top diameter of 9.62 meters, a height of 60 meters, and 238 steps. The installed clock is in the international Gothic style of the 15th century and is very distinctive.
The cloister of this church is also impressive, located in front of the church door, it is known for its rare exhibitions and huge scale, and can be said to be one of the largest cloisters in Europe, with 17 gorgeous Gothic windows, each with its own unique features, giving people a bright feeling.
For a ticket price of 5 euros, you can enter the interior of the cathedral for a visit, climb the tower with 236 steps to the top, overlook the entire small city of Lleida, and look for your own home or hotel from above. You can also see the direction of the Segre River, enjoy the view from a high place, and feel refreshed and happy!
Especially at night under the lights or in the reflection of the evening sunset, the cathedral presents an image as if it were possessed by golden light.

Sagrada Familia Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in May)
What does Sagrada Familia mean?
✨Gaudi never got to see it finished during his lifetime, but you might.
🏯Sagrada Familia, Barcelona's second-highest tower was formally inaugurated on Wednesday, with the illumination of the massive 5.5-ton star that shines at the top. Construction on this holy masterpiece has been ongoing since 1882, which was supposed to be completed by 2026, but the COVID-19 epidemic prompted the consortium to revise their plans.
⛪️Catalan architect Antoni Gaudi, who designed Sagrada Familia, meant to create a "Bible made of stone," with many cryptical symbols mirrored in its buildings, sculptures, and ornamentation. 🌈
💗Rome was not constructed in a day, and neither was Sagrada Familia. The Star was eventually lighted after 139 years.

Passatge Santa Teresa Jornet
Passatge Santa Teresa Jornet
Avinguda 27 de Gener, 31, 25182 Aitona, Lleida
This is a corner garden located in Etona, and I couldn't find any detailed information about it online. A small garden houses a statue of a saint, and based on the name of the garden, it should be Santa Teresa Jornet. The warm spring sunshine shines on the quiet garden, and an old man lazily dozes off in a corner of the garden. It's such a harmonious scene. The whole garden looks more like a farmer's courtyard, and in one corner of the park, there are previously used carts and farming tools, quietly telling stories of the past.
Aitona (Spanish: Aitona) is a municipality in the province of Lleida, Catalonia, Spain. It covers a total area of 67 square kilometers and has a population of 2,179 people (as of 2001), with a population density of 33 people per square kilometer. Its main industry is agriculture.
The origin of the town is located in an ancient Saracen castle, which was proven in a document from 1120. It was reconquered by Ermengol VI of Urgell in 1145. For a period of time, most of its inhabitants were Muslims, who were granted a special legal system prevailing until the seventeenth century.
It had the crown until 1212, the year the Barony of Ettorena was established. In 1233, it fell into the hands of the Moncada family. Some ruins of the castle can be seen from the mountain overlooking the city. The parish church is dedicated to Saint Antoly. It was built in the 18th century and has a Baroque-style exterior. It consists of three ships.
Near the city center is the refuge of San Juan de Carratalán. It is believed to be the masterpiece of the Hospital Knights and was built on the site of an old mosque. A Romanesque temple mentioned in a document from 1168.
Who would have thought that this small town with a population of less than 3000 would be the most important peach planting and exporting area in all of Spain? With 8500 hectares of orchards, various types of peaches such as oil peaches, red peaches, and flat peaches are grown, with an average annual total output of 150 million kilograms.
Who would have thought that a small agricultural town would accidentally become a popular tourist destination? The locals who made their fortune selling fruits also benefited from the tourism industry.
