Kakadu National Park Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
A beautiful location for some much needed cooling off in a croc-free pool. We walked to the top which took only around 30 mins via a small track across the river. Rock jumping and swimming amongst the pools was one of the highlights of our trip to Kakadu. #wintergetaway

Kakadu National Park is Australia's largest national park, once an aboriginal autonomous region whose indigenous culture dates back 50,000 years. It was later classified as a national park and was included in the World Heritage List. There are rich landscapes, cliffs, floodplains, tropical rainforests, wetland waterfalls, and tens of thousands of colorful flora and fauna. But the most distinctive thing for me is that Kakadu is here. I can see the rock paintings from 20,000 years ago. This is the most direct evidence and carrier of the origin of indigenous cultures dating back tens of thousands of years.
In Australia's largest national park, you'll admire rugged cliffs, lush tropical rainforests, and rock art that has a history of 20,000 years. Go to the Huangshui River cruise, take a boat, and the millions of migratory birds that stop on the wet ground will surely make you stunned, and the fierce crocodile predation scene is quite exciting.
The captain told us the precautions, taught us how to use life jackets, and the children could not sit on their side. So the parents all persuaded their children to sit on the inside. The blonde girl in my front row kept looking at the river bank and trying to find the crocodile. "Crocodile!" She should be very proud. She didn't even notice the captain who knew it, but she first discovered a crocodile. I and her two sisters and mom and dad first looked in the direction of her chubby fingers, and found a crocodile quietly on the shore. The captain exclaimed to praise the little girl and retreated the hull near the crocodile. I don't know how long this crocodile has been here, and the wet water on the back has been dried. It may have been accustomed to facing tourists who are surprised to see themselves every day, as if a burnout employee who came out of work every day to get out of work and showed his face, did not move, and ignored us.

Enjoy the sunset over the Yellow River with crocodiles and birds. At six o'clock in the evening, the sun gradually fell, and the captain drove the boat to the best position to watch the sunset. The sun has faded away from the sun. The setting sun left the shadow of the twilight on the sparkling river, and the bird whose name could not be called flew over the head. This situation is exactly what Wang Bo said. "The falling clouds and the lonely are flying together, and the autumn water is always the same." .
A funny thing happened while cruising in the Huangshui River. Our captain is a younger and leaner Australian sister. She kept asking the tourists on board repeatedly in English before departure. "Is anyone unable to understand English? I am talking about very important matters now, listen. Do not understand the hand." Perhaps it is rare to meet Asian faces, the female captain has been looking at me. I didn't make a sound, because if I don't understand English, then how do I know what she is asking? This is an infinite loop, haha.
The Yellow River water cruise was booked at the hotel's front desk. The early morning sunrise and evening sunsets were the most popular, and the time was half an hour longer than the regular cruise. The price was slightly more expensive. I booked a two-hour parade at sunset in the evening, for one person for 90. I think this should be a project that children are particularly interested in, because in the two-hour parade, all kinds of birds will be seen all the way, and the big crocodiles that the children are looking forward to. Sure enough, the ship I boarded, the passengers were almost all families with children, and the children were all nervous and eager to look at the shore.
Yellow Water is a famous scenic spot in Kakadu National Park. This area is known for its wetlands, so taking a cruise on Yellow Water is a must-see. There are many kinds of animals that can be seen every day. It is recommended to take the sunrise or sunset. Animals are more active at sunrise, and the scenery is more beautiful at sunset.
If the weather is good, you can see the sunrise and the reflection in the morning. There are many rare birds on both sides of the river bank, and there are many crocodile cockroaches that can see the visual fatigue. If you are lucky, you can see the Australian lungfish.
Ubirr Rock Art Sites Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
Sitting on the edge of the Ubil cliff, facing a desolate but vibrant floodplain, sunrise and sunset repeat here every day, but travellers from all over the world come over the mountains and gather on the huge rocks in the wilderness. It is only a brief moment for the sun to sink the horizon. Its like going to the ocean to meet with your loved ones. Its not the beauty of the worlds tears.
Most of Ubir's rock paintings came from more than 2,000 years ago, and the farther may be traced back to tens of thousands of years ago. It was the ancestors of the indigenous people who used the blood and minerals of the prey to smear. Part of the rock paintings are the image of animals, wolves, turtles and fish, and some depict the life and rules of the indigenous people at the time. For example, there is a painting about an indigenous girl who ate a fish at the wrong time and was severely punished, triggering a war between the two tribes. But the most special one is the rock painting that was later called "X-ray painting". It can be seen that the internal structure of these fishes has also been drawn.
Uber's rock paintings and sunsets Ubirr Rock. An hour's drive from the hotel, there is a place called Ubir, where I have seen the sunset that has made me move the most in the past few years. You need to come here at least an hour before sunset, because there is a natural gallery from the old age that needs to be illuminated by bright daylight. On the way from the Ubil car park to the top lookout platform Nardab Lookout, on the huge rocky side of the road, you will see many rock paintings depicted by the indigenous people of the past.
