Name of place🔖: Guatape Nearest city🗺️: Medellín, Colombia Access 🚌: there are plenty of local tours from Medellin to take you to this small town 1.5 hour drive away. You can take a bus or if you have a group you can book a private car What’s special ✨ apart from a rock-like hill that attracts a lot of climbers to go up to see the stunning view, this town is also known for being very colourful with happy Latino music playing everywhere. Beautiful town near Medellín

#fallishere Guatapé is very colorful, the people are very humble. The place lives off tourism. You won't find modern things in most of the city. However, the locals are usually people who left the city to study and returned, or people who have spent their entire lives getting to know their town and the stories. The place is small and everyone knows each other. Tourism being the main source of income, it is a safe place for any tourist.

Avianca Lounge

#fallishere Avianca has two lounges at the Jose María Cordova airport. The basic one, called Silver, accepts Priority Pass. The other one, called diamond, is only for Avianca passengers with the diamond status. The food options are very limited and the menu hasn’t changed for quite sometime. The menu is meat soup, basic sandwiches and ground meat. This lounge doesn’t compare to any of the other VIP lounges. So better avoid if you are hungry!! The work space is decent nevertheless still a better way to wait for a flight than hanging around the gate area

#fallishere Jose Maria Córdova International Airport is the main airport that serves Medellin. It is the second busiest airport in Colombia and is named after José María Córdova, a Colombian military leader who played a significant role in the country's struggle for independence. Nice and modern, it's only 12 miles south of Medellin and a 30 minute cab or uber ride to El Poblado, the city center. Plenty of food choices and there are some VIP airport lounges. Fastest way to city center is an Uber and should run around $20.

Alhibe Farm

Agwas was a tiny place in the mountains. I think the cafe was understaffed. No one caters you upon entering the cafe to get you a table, you have to look for your own table. I think table reservation would have been better before dining in since it is going to be a long ride going to the cafe. Staff was accommodating even when the place is packed. We waited for around 30 minutes just to get a table. Food was okay but not really extraordinary. Pancake and slush were good Pasta was on the sweeter side and is not my cup of tea. Chicken was tender but lacks flavor. Ice cream had ice crystals it was like a sorbet. It is overall a great place to try if you want something new or the need a quick break from the city. Fist visit, tried their: Smoked Ham all day breakfast. Served as Ham, Eggs, Bread & oranges. Every item on the plate was very nice. Good quality & taste.
