I had the experience of travelling to Beppu.
Beppu is famous for its onsen (hot springs). Rather than bathing, there are hot springs for viewing also. And each one is formed different way and has different properties.
There are 7 hot springs known as ‘Hells of beppu’. If you have time, it is recommended to visit each of them.
There are also foot baths for the feet in these places. It is a great way to relax and it is recommended to take towels for your feet with you. At the same time , some places give towels to visitors.
Note: You don’t have to visit all of them. However, you have to pay the entrance fee for each of them. If you buy a packet , you can pay 2000 yen (15$) one time and can visit 7 hot springs. You can take the ticket from ticketing place at the entrance of any hot spring place.
As you can see with photos, this view is amazing and it deserves to be visited.
Colourful Hot Springs in Beppu
In the city of Beppu of Oita Prefecture, Kyushu, there are steaming hot springs which they call hells for viewing that are popular with tourists. Their unique appearances make the hot springs spectacular. Beppu is the second largest producer of geothermal water in the world.
The different types of hell are derived from the different types of water. Umi Jigoku, or Sea Hell in Japanese, is named for its vibrant cobalt blue waters surrounded by a small Japanese garden. The blue colour is the result of sunlight hitting the water surface. The water is so hot that clouds of steam constantly obscure its surface. Another hot spring that is interesting is the Chinoike Jigoku or Blood Pond Hell, named after the vibrant red colour of the steaming hot pond due to the iron in the water.
There is also a free foot bath for visitors who are tired from all the walking which comes from natural hot spring waters. This foot bath is truly a lifesaver to sit down and relax. In addition, they also sell food items boiled using the spring waters such as eggs.

Kinrin Lake Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in May)
#unforgettableexperiences

Beautiful Autumn Vibes in Kinrin Lake
#familytrips2024
The lake is very beautiful, with a view of the mountains. We visited the lake for autumn leaves in November. There were many people and cars, but the views were amazing. Parking was a challenge due to the crowd and narrow streets. It cost 400 yen per day to go down to the bottom, but we parked at 500 yen per day before it got congested. There is a beautiful Shinto shrine on the southeastern shore. I recommend visiting if you have the time, as it's free.
Our dream destination for our family trip is China as it's rich history, diverse culture, stunning landscapes, and delicious cuisine make it a captivating place to visit.
Showa Memories of Yufuin: Japan's Most Charming Hot Spring Town
Yufuin, this tranquil town hidden on Kyushu Island, attracts tourists from all over the world with its magnificent natural landscapes and long history of hot springs.
🏨 Accommodation: Etavia Yufuin Ekimae (Etavia Hotel - Yufuin Station Front)
Staying overnight in such a peaceful town is definitely a treat. I chose the Etavia Yufuin Ekimae hotel, located right opposite Yufuin Station, super convenient. The hotel's self-check-in makes everything simple and quick. Their open-air bath is not to be missed, where you can enjoy the hot springs while admiring the magnificent view of Mount Yufu🌄.
🚶♂️ Route: A Day Walking Around Yufuin
Morning: Depart from the hotel and walk to Lake Kinrinko. The air is filled with the fresh scent of grass and trees in the morning, and a thin mist occasionally drifts across the lake surface, making it a perfect spot for photography📷.
Morning: Then head to Yufuin Floral Village to enjoy the rich variety of plants and the carefully arranged flower beds. Stroll down Yufuin's main street - the path, browsing those unique shops selling handicrafts and local specialties🛍️.
Noon: Find a restaurant on the old streets to enjoy authentic Kyushu grilled chicken and Yufuin's special tofu🍴. You can also choose a cafe, sit down to enjoy the flowers, and watch the hurried passers-by.
Afternoon: Consider visiting the 'Fairy Tale Town' - a theme area full of fantasy colors, where every corner looks like a scene from a fairy tale book, perfectly blending Yufuin's natural beauty with creative man-made architecture.

Yufuin Hot Springs Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in May)
Kirin Lake, Fukuoka - Japan: This lakebis located in Yufuin area with the mountain view. There are som ducks and fishes in the lake. Also there is a Public Bath nearby. The view in summer and winter will be in different style.
Yufuin in Oita, Japan is fun and stunning. Yufuin have a beautiful lake, walking street and many onsen or hot spring. It is nice to get off the train and stroll around the town with plenty of little shops and cafes to explore. You can rent a bicycle for bike and explore around the town. I feel simple and slow life when I visit this place and definitely go back! If you are going onsen in Yufuin you would have visited the area. But if you are not planning for onsen in the area and have JR Pass and in Hakata (Fukuoka), then this is an opportunity to visit the town. It's a nice area to spend your half day there.

If you are a Ghibli fan, you definitely have to visit this shop! This is the Donguri no Mori store located just five minutes away from Yufuin station. Yufuin is a 3 hours ride from Hakata station. There are many ryokan around to start at, they are famous for Onsen. This stir is filled with Ghibli character merchandises and they have many cute photo spots for you to take photos at. It’s so cute!
nice onsen hotel in yufuin
great hotel with private onsen, great value and good food
The scenery is not old, and the scenery here is good. When you come to Yufuin, the beautiful scenery is immediately reflected in your eyes. Looking at the mountains from afar, there is water in the near future, how to take pictures is good!
Although the area of Yufuyuan is not large, the layout is very good. It is said that the local tourism department will visit Europe every year and apply the latest planning concept to Yufuyuan. Therefore, the town not only has a strong Japanese style, but also Infiltrated some European style
I went to Kyoto early, and I was looking for various temples to appreciate ancient buildings and study Japanese Shinto culture. Later, as the footsteps deepened, it was discovered that there were large and small shrines and monasteries in various places in Japan. Even the streets of the country sometimes have a Tibetan Bodhisattva.
Kyoto's famous Fushimi Inari, there are more than 100 similar Inari shrines in the country, and even Kumamoto Sugaeji Temple has a mini Inari Shrine. The Eight Diagrams Palace is also visible in Japan. Both the Kyoto and Nagoya have a noodle palace in the Yufuin, and follow the map to go after lunch.
Yufuyuan is really small. It took five minutes to walk out of the JR station and entered the village. Rare vehicles and pedestrians. The small street is the appearance of a classic Japanese drama, friendly and unfamiliar. After 10 minutes in the sun, I walked to the front door of the Eight Diagrams Palace. The temple is empty, but it is well maintained. Next door is the JR railway line. Occasionally, a train is driven, and the Gesang flower that winds the roadside is swaying.
