China town At Manila Philippine
913 Ongpin St, Santa Cruz, Manila, 1003 Metro Manila, Philippines address for China town .. it is said to be the oldest China town in the whole world .. that is found at 1500s with about 500 year of history . However that place did not show any historical site . Just food and fruit vendor with many beggars around .. noting much to shout out and a smelly river . And it pretty dangerous during the night . #chinatown

World's oldest Chinatown
The oldest Chinatown in the world is in Binondo, a district within the Philippine capital of Manila. During this time, the Philippines was under Spanish rule. Binondo is located across the Pasig River from the former Spanish headquarters of Intramuros. The Spanish restricted the Chinese to Binondo so that they were close enough for easy access to labor — but not too close as to live with the locals or Spaniard aristocracy. Today, Binondo is still a vibrant and active Chinatown that’s best known for its food and the fact that the pace is a tad slower as compared to the rest of Manila. #bucketlistreboot

As early as the 11th century, the Chinese began to move to the Philippines. They first settled in the city of Manila. In the 16th century, they were rushed outside the city by the Spaniards, now on the north bank of the Basga River.
After years of development, the area has begun to expand into a large block with the Chinese-style archway China-Philippines Friendship Gate and the other end of the Goodwill Gate. In the
district, there are four parallel streets, such as Jiezi, Zhouzi, Zhibinbin and Wangbin. There are hundreds of large and small streets and lanes. The shops along the street are old, most of which are opened by Chinese.
These stores include auto parts stores, grocery stores, goldsmith shops, medicinal materials shops, bookstores, as well as shipping and industrial companies, Chinese restaurants, tea houses, shopping malls, medical clinics, banks, and theaters.

The World’s Oldest Chinatown
A 15 minute Bao Bao (Tagalog for TukTuk) ride to the heart of Manila’s enchanting Chinatown will leave you in streets lined with makeshift filled potholes, exposed electrical wires, pops of red lanterns, and golden dragons. A hectic scene that is sure to bring out your adventurous side.
You’re likely to see and smell Chinese incense gracing the walls of the 400 year old Binondo Church. From street vendors, to mom and pop shops, to 40 story luxury condos. - the juxtaposition of old and new thats ever-present throughout Manila is amplified in Chinatown.
Pop your straw in a coconut, and buy a couple Shanghai Fried Dumplings and take a walk. People watch, take in the sounds and smells, and if you’re at all like me - imagine how these streets have transformed the past 4 centuries.

Going Chinese in the Philippines!
Recommended Sightseeing time: 1-2 hour
Address: 864 Masangkay St, Binondo, Manila, 1006 Metro Manila, Philippines
Phone: (+63)2-2522888
Travel Time: Almost 2.5 hours from Bulacan
China town is one of the best locations in Philippines! Founded in 1594, it holds the distinction of being the oldest Chinatown in the world. It has since become a melting pot with many stories to tell, and a lot of things to do in Binondo involve exploring its rich heritage.
Start at Binondo Church and follow the savory scents of oranges and sweetmeats, lychees, and mooncakes. The area bordered by Ongpin, Quentin Paredes and Gandara Streets offers the heart of Chinatown, where you can browse to your heart's content and pick up noodles, yellow Chinese gold, and mysterious remedies for illnesses you may not have known you had.
Overall, I am very excited about the time I visited Chinatown and really had a great time shopping and eating!

MANILA CHINA TOWN 🧧
The one and only Chinatown in the Philippines. It has been there since the earliest days when the Filipino-Chinese community has gained foothold in the country. Now, many people still come daily. It is specially festive there during the Chinese New Year. 🎆🎇
