Enjoying Japan and a touch of China in Da Nang
I first visited Mikazuki in December 2022. At that time, there were hardly any Koreans, but nowadays, there are quite a few. Well, the number of Chinese visitors has also increased. However, it is still a place frequented by many Westerners.
For families looking to experience various cultures or those who prefer staying in and using room service and facilities without venturing into the city, I highly recommend Mikazuki.
Atmosphere/Facilities: Some of the photos are from December 2022. Back then, the outdoor swimming pool was under construction, so it was not accessible, but now you can enjoy it to the fullest. Even after revisiting two and a half years later, the facilities did not feel outdated. However, the water park area seemed less new compared to before. Still, it appears safe.
Key Points: It's all about enjoying Japan in Vietnam. Mikazuki is one of the hotels operated by the Mikazuki Group, which is known for managing numerous hot springs, hotels, and resorts. This likely contributes to its well-organized system.
The reception staff greet guests in a low posture on sofas rather than at a counter, which is distinctly Japanese. You can also rent kimonos for photos. The hotel offers access to a rooftop pool, outdoor pool, and a water park (additional fees apply). However, purchasing a package that includes accommodation may make the water park more affordable. The water park has a noticeable Chinese vibe, possibly catering to Chinese visitors or influenced by financial trends. Ah, the hot springs—absolutely delightful! They feel just like the open-air hot springs in Japan. The hot springs were even better during December, as it was Christmas and winter in Vietnam, with temperatures around 22–24°C—quite amusing for winter weather.
Breakfast was excellent, offering a variety of dishes to cater to guests from different countries, making it fun to choose your meal in the morning. The restaurant where breakfast is served also offers lunch and dinner at reasonable prices, making it one of the more affordable options among hotels of similar caliber in Da Nang.
Regarding location, many people worry because it’s situated on the northern side of Da Nang. However, compared to December 2022, the area has developed significantly. Using taxis or Grab, you can reach schools and markets within 10–15 minutes. The surrounding commercial area is very affordable. During my earlier visit, there were hardly any English speakers, so I had to rely on Vietnamese translations for shopping. Nowadays, there are quite a few people in the markets and nearby areas who can speak basic English, making things much more convenient.
Average Price Per Person: 200,000–250,000 KRW per night (including lunch and dinner). Additional fees apply for water park access.
Rating: 4.1/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
During my December 2022 visit, despite heavy rain and pool construction, I would have rated it in the high 4s. However, during this visit, the presence of large group tours from mainland China significantly lowered my personal impression. Not everyone was disruptive, but a few individuals really ruined the atmosphere. For instance, despite the non-smoking policy, some people were smoking outside designated areas, which was quite upsetting.
