Between Kyoto and Osaka, there is a place where the Kawazu cherry trees bloom from late February to early March.
Taking the Keihan train to 'Yodo' station, it takes about 1 hour from Kyoto and about 1.5 hours from Osaka.
First, right outside the station, there are cherry blossoms at the bus stop. The area isn't busy with traffic, so you can walk up close to the cherry blossoms for photos. (Pictures two and three)
Then, you can walk to the ruins of Yodo Castle, where there is a shrine, and right beside it is a cherry blossom tunnel. Not many people know about this spot, so you can take photos at leisure (Picture four)
Lastly, of course, is the Yodo River, which is the most popular spot for cherry blossom viewing and, of course, the most beautiful! (Pictures one and five)

Chasing the Cherry Blossom
Been traveled to Japan few times but never visit during cherry blossom season.
Finally make it to this flower season and got the chance to see it in full bloom.
The weather in Japan is so unpredictable, we are lucky to catch the earliest batch’s.
It was still raining when we arrived but luckily it stopped for awhile for us to take this pretty pictures.
Still in awe and i understand why cherry blossom in Japan is a bucket list.

Early cherry-blossom on a rainy-cold day

We believed the forecast, that this year the cherry blossoming will come early, so we booked our trip to Japan for the last week of Japan. Despite the forecast, the weather cooled down, and it rained most of our time, and 99% of this magical trees haven't started blooming.
Luckily there are some places with early blooming species, so we could get some of the sakura-feeling. I recommend those mid-late March sakura-seeker to visit the Kawazu-Zakura Cherry Trees in Yodo, Kyoto
[淀の河津桜]. Very nice experience, even on a rainy day!
