Those who have been to Qinghai Lake and those who haven't both fell silent
Today, coming to Qinghai Lake, I was truly captivated by its beauty.
🌄
👀Snow-capped mountains, deserts, and lakes all in one frame; such scenes I had only seen in others' videos before, but seeing them with my own eyes is unbelievably beautiful👀! 😃It's like being in a fairyland, utterly enchanting and intoxicating😃.
🌄
When I first arrived, the weather wasn't very good, the land on the south bank was as flat as a carpet, and in the distance, herdsmen were driving sheep to graze. At that moment, the lake's surface merged with the sky, and only the Qilian Mountains on the horizon could barely distinguish the boundary between heaven and earth.
🌄
I never liked the military-style check-in and photo-taking when traveling; I prefer to slow down, feel the changes in the weather, the alternation of the sun and the moon, and discover the beauty in the surging light and shadows.
🌄
On the map, I saw a desert in the northeast of Qinghai Lake and was curious about how it formed there, and why it's the only one of its kind.
I set up camp near the desert, and unexpectedly, the weather turned bad at night, with snowstorms arriving as expected. When I got up at night to go to the toilet, my down jacket was covered with a thick layer of snow in just the time it took.
The next day, my sunshade was also collapsed by the snow, and the snow sliding off the tent looked like a spring roll. When you slow down your travel, you see more than others.
🌄
Launching the drone, I saw the desert covered with a layer of snow, simply too beautiful. It took me half a day to hike up the hill and take this set of photos before and after the snow.
Qinghai Lake, the last tear of the Earth~
Qinghai Lake, the largest lake in China, is hailed as the last tear of the Earth, the last tear of the sky...
Recently, I took a trip to the Northwest, and when you come to the Northwest, Qinghai Lake is definitely a must-visit!
On a sunny day, after the sun's angle lowers in the afternoon, looking at the lake from different angles, sometimes it's sky blue, sometimes it's emerald green, like a moving gem~
tips: Wherever you go, please do not litter and protect the environment
Incredible! The beauty of Qinghai Lake will leave you stunned!

Yunnanyi Town Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Jun)
angyun, Dali, Yunnan Post - The earliest place called Yunnan - The widest Ancient Tea Horse Road and the largest horse inn
👉I've known about Yunnan Post for a long time, passing it countless times on trips from Kunming to the western Yunnan region. It is the first place called Yunnan, from the 'Yunnan County' more than 2100 years ago during the Western Han Dynasty, to 'Yunnan Commandery', and then to the present-day 'Yunnan Post'. It is known as the 'Origin of Yunnan'.
For some reason, I never visited this ancient Tea Horse town.
👉This time, during the holiday period, firstly, I happened to be in Dali, and secondly, I couldn't go to the overly popular scenic spots, so Yunnan Post, as a niche attraction, was just perfect.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
🌼What to see at Yunnan Post:
1️⃣One of the best-preserved ancient Tea Horse Road post stations. There is a group of 'National Key Cultural Relics Protection Units' ancient architectural complexes, with many two-story buildings on the old street, indicating the prosperity of the past. Even more impressive is the 'Li Family Courtyard' which has 6 courtyards that are protected ancient buildings, a strength that is astonishing even today.
2️⃣The widest section of the Ancient Tea Horse Road. The nearly 2km old street of Yunnan Post was also part of the ancient Tea Horse Road, and it is the widest, with a width of 3.4 to 6.0 meters, allowing two teams of horses to pass side by side. The prosperity of the past is still evident. In the middle of the road, there is a central line made of strip-shaped stones (locally called 'leading horse stones'), much like the center lines on modern roads, a testament to the wisdom of ancient China.
3️⃣The largest horse inn. Yunnan Post was a key point on the ancient road, and all horse caravans from Kunming to western Yunnan, Tibet, and even Myanmar and India had to pass through Yunnan Post for rest and resupply. Over time, the largest horse inn in Yunnan Province was born here - Qianji Horse Inn, which is now part of the 'Yunnan Horse Caravan Culture Museum'. It is said that at its peak, it could accommodate more than 300 horses a day, requiring over a thousand kilograms of fodder, a truly spectacular sight. The museum displays a large number of caravan tools, caravan jargon, caravan songs, and introduces the Yunnan pony, worth a visit.
4️⃣The 'Caravan Museum' diagonally opposite the World War II Memorial Hall records and reflects the joint efforts to build the wartime highway (Stilwell Road) and the Flying Tigers' airfield.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
🚗Address and Transportation:
1️⃣'Yunnan Post Scenic Area' is located in Yunnan Post Town, Xiangyun County, Dali City, about 20km from Xiangyun County, about 70km from Dali City, and about 250km from Kunming.
2️⃣Take the G56 Hangrui Expressway and exit at 'Dazhuang' or 'Banqiao', then follow the old road to get there.
🎫Ticket Information: No admission fee required.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
✨Tips:
1️⃣It's a very niche attraction with not many people.
2️⃣The Caravan Museum and the World War II Memorial Hall will close for a 2-hour break at noon, so adjust your time accordingly.
3️⃣The duration of the visit depends on personal preference, approximately 2 to 4 hours.
Let's go to the place in Yunnan that was first called Yunnan: Yunnan Post
As a lover of ancient towns and cities, I recently visited the Bell and Drum Tower and Yunnan Post in Xiangyun County, and was deeply attracted by the lively atmosphere of the Bell and Drum Tower and the historical sense of Yunnan Post!
🍠Bell and Drum Tower
The Bell and Drum Tower was built in the 19th year of the Hongwu era of the Ming Dynasty (1386), with the lower level connecting the streets in all four directions. Above each of the four stone archways, there is a rectangular horizontal stone plaque, with the east reading 'Hui Lian Dong Pi', the west 'Rui Qi Xi Yuan', the south 'Cai Huan Nan Yun', and the north 'En Cheng Bei Que'. The entire Bell and Drum Tower is exquisitely heavy and colorful, echoing the East City Gate from afar.
Today, it has become a shopping and strolling hub in the county town, but you can still see old-fashioned barbershops and photo studios, which have a unique charm.
🍠Yunnan Post
As the place that was first called Yunnan, it was an important post station on the Southwest Silk Road, stretching 1720 meters, with many old horse inns and shops, one can easily imagine its past glory;
After touring, you can also go to the nearby Elephant Mountain Hot Spring for a soak, for more details you can refer to the Hot Spring Guide notes.
Retracing Yunnan Post, experiencing the real Yunnan
Every winter during the New Year, many friends like to travel to Yunnan, and the most popular places in Yunnan are Dali and Lijiang. In fact, there is a relatively unpopular place in Dali where you can experience local life well, that is, Yunnan Post in Xiangyun County, Dali Prefecture, Yunnan Province.
We may rarely hear this name now, but many, many years ago, it was an important transportation hub. Because of the existence of the Ancient Tea Horse Road, it also became the center of economy and culture.
But now Yunnan Post has become particularly deserted, only some self-driving friends passing by Xiangyun will come here to take a look. For us poor travel backpackers, transportation has become a big problem.
In fact, it's not that difficult to come here. You can take a bus at the South Bus Station (Urban and Rural Bus Station) in Xiangyun. It's interesting to sell tickets here, they are not machine-printed tickets, but handwritten ones.
You can also return in the same way, you can take a bus on the side of the road. If you are interested, you can also walk by Qinghai Lake under the sun-drying slope.
A little-known ancient village that 99% of people don't know about! Yunnan Post
A little-known ancient village that 99% of people don't know about! Yunnan Post
Colorful Yunnan is now, the county is in the south of the cloud
Xiangyun City, this is the earliest place called "Yunnan" and it is also an important political, economic, and cultural center in western Yunnan. It was once the guardian of Erhai Lake, and now it is a city that never sleeps. The Yunnan Post, which has a history of more than 2000 years
It has experienced the glory of the horse gang and also passed through the flames of revolution. Fortunately, in the rotation of the years
It has preserved the bottom color of our story
Walking along the 650-meter ancient post road, on the stone slab road polished by the years, on the rammed earth wall washed by wind and rain, on the White Horse Temple blessed by everyone
. .....
You can feel the silent conversation with time. Yunnan Post, the southwestern fortress of the ancient Silk Road, finally bid farewell to its heavy responsibility as a post station. Prosperity and glory are printed on the pages of history and also left in the memories of the old people.
Transportation: Xiangyun is about 1h drive from Dali city, it is recommended to charter a car or self-drive, Yunnan Post scenic area is about 20 kilometers away from Xiangyun county, about 20 minutes by car, it is said to be a scenic area, but it is not commercialized at all, you can't even see foreigners, let alone internet celebrity shops and cafes. It is this undisturbed tranquility that makes Yunnan Post more simple and pure.
Dali also has such a niche destination - Hedan Qixuan Village
It turns out that Dali also has such a niche travel destination. Sasha wants to share with everyone the exploration of the Yi village and feel the charm of the intangible cultural heritage.
I have been to Dali several times, and it is still dominated by the Bai people here, such as Xizhou, which is known as the first village of the Bai people. I just learned that there are quite a few Yi people here. It is said that the Bai people and the Yi people have a common ancestor. In the Dali country of that year, they also occupied an important position.
🌟Located in Qixuan Village, Hedan, Dali, it is a place full of ethnic customs, and it still retains a rich Yi traditional culture.
🎉Dumb Festival: The Dumb Festival in Qixuan Village has a long history and is now the second largest intangible cultural heritage project in Yunnan Province. Every Lunar New Year's Day, villagers will wear masks or paint on their faces, dance dumb dances, remember their ancestors, and it is also a way of totem worship.
📚Ancestral Hall: The ancestral hall of Qixuan Village enshrines the wooden carvings of ancestors, which is different from our Han nationality's tablets. The one in the middle is the legendary mute girl. If you feel uncomfortable somewhere, you can touch the same part of the mute girl, and the disease will be removed when you touch it!
🥁Pray for the drum: When you come to the village, you must knock on the prayer drum and make a silent wish in your heart. You must knock 3 times, or 6 times, or 9 times, to be particularly effective!
🕺Lifting Vegetable Dance: It is a national intangible cultural heritage, also called Yi Jumping Vegetables. Dancing while serving dishes, I have been to Yunnan dozens of times and this is the first time I have seen it, it is really shocking! It is a ceremonial dance, given to guests from afar!
🌳Entering Qixuan Village, you will also feel the natural scenery and simple folk customs here. Walking on the bluestone road, there are simple houses on both sides, with curling smoke, as if going back to that leisurely and comfortable era.
🌟Qixuan Village is very suitable for slow experience, you can live in the village soon, there are several homestays under construction in the village. A recommended souvenir is a tile cat, which is so cute and can attract wealth and fortune. The price generally starts at 100, the size is different, and the price is different.
