Opted for an outer island stay in Venice, and Plaza Hotel Mestre is directly opposite Mestre train station. It seemed quite popular. Check-in and check-out were smooth; we arrived at noon and were given our room right away. The room was spacious and comfortable, with two 1.5-meter beds and cozy bedding, plus all the basic amenities. The towels were clean, and disposable slippers were provided, though the toiletries were basic. Our street-facing room had a bit of noise at night, but it was tolerable. There's an elevator for convenience. The Western breakfast was filling, with delicious bacon, and the coffee machine offered hot milk and hot water, perfect for those with thermos flasks to refill. Bus No. 2 right outside the hotel made getting to and from the island very convenient. Around the hotel, there's a Chinese supermarket and a Sichuan restaurant that were surprisingly good, affordable, and without any unpleasant surprises. I'd highly recommend this hotel for independent travelers. Venice is truly beautiful! 👍

Hotel Principe is truly one of the most convenient stays in Venice, located just a short walk from the Santa Lucia train station — a great advantage in a city full of bridges and steps . The hotel offers two guest lifts, which makes moving around with luggage incredibly easy.
The lounge area is spacious, beautifully decorated, and provides a warm, elegant welcome. One of the highlights is the direct access to the Venice canal right from within the hotel. You can relax and enjoy the charming view of boats gliding along the water — a quintessential Venetian experience.
Our room was spacious and comfortable, offering a pleasant stay overall. We genuinely hope the hotel continues to maintain its good standard, as we would love to return on our future visits to Venice.

This is a hostel, and I thought it was a mix of hostel and hotel, but it turned out to be all hostel rooms. The facilities are basic and limited. The four-person room I booked wasn't available, so I got a free upgrade to a six-person room, which just meant an extra bunk bed. It's not bad, just not what I expected. If you're okay with hostels, then it's fine.
The location is excellent, very convenient for transport. It's close to Venezia Mestre train station, just a ten-minute walk to get inside.
The breakfast served in Hotel Centrale was the best among all hotels i stayed in Italy. The receptionist are friendly. The accommodation fees were affordable. The buildings beside my hotel were nice.

Close to Piazzale Roma, you dont need to carry you lagguges so far if you park your car on Municipale Parking or Tronccetto or if you travel by train you dont need cross even this one bridge :) . Hotel is on via Spagna is commercial street so crowded but is close to Ferrovia. Hotel is in old building Pallacco in Venetian Style. Rooms are in Venetian Style also, cossy, but on minimum, in fotos it looks little beter. Aroud you have all you need shops, restaraunts, etc, so no problem, Vapporetto Stop is just right the corner. To Piazzale San Marco is about 40 minutes (via Realto), or 50 minutes (via Academia) by foot, even beter by foot than via Vaporetto, you vist Venezia. Hotel service is very nice and helpful, breakfast is very good and has a lot of meals.
Excellent location, very close to the train station and attractions,
Complete facilities and environmental sanitation services are in place, recommended!

The hotel is located just a few steps away from MESTRE RAILWAY STATION, connecting to St Lucia and to all buses. For tourism, it's a perfect choice. Our flight was scheduled very early in the morning when the breakfast could not be available but because we had paid for it, the staff prepared a packed lunch for us. Customer satisfaction 💯%
I loved my stay in this hotel, it’s a castle but has comfortable and newly renovated rooms with great lighting. Breakfast was also delicious, and it was convenient to travel to Venice from there. Highly recommended!
Hu Venezia Camping Hotel – A Practical & Surprising Base for Venice
My grate stay at the Hu Venezia Camping Hotel. It offers incredible value and fantastic facilities, making it a great choice for travelers on a budget.
The Accommodation: Think of the rooms as clean, modern wooden cabins. They are compact and very basic – essentially a ”wooden box” as described, but they have the essential: a comfortable bed, a roof, and a powerful air conditioner. The cleaning is provided once a week, which is perfect for longer stays.
The Resort & USP: The Amazing Pool Complex This is where the hotel truly shines. The property is massive and feels like a resort. The centrepiece is the huge, fantastic swimming pool, which is easily the hotel's Unique Selling Point (USP). It’s a major plus for families, as there's a dedicated area for children, and for adults looking to cool off and relax after a long day of sightseeing in crowded Venice.
The overall atmosphere and interior landscaping of the hotel are really beautiful. It's green, well-maintained, and has a great vibe that makes you forget you're just outside a major city.
Food & Drink There is an on-site restaurant where you can buy affordable meals, snacks, and drinks. A key point to note: there is no room service. The practical approach is to grab your food and take it back to enjoy on your patio or in your room. Also, be aware that coffee sachets are not provided in the room. If you're a coffee lover, I highly recommend bringing your own or buying some at the reception/restaurant.
Location & Connectivity The location is practical for accessing Venice without paying premium prices.
· Shuttle Service: The hotel offers a very convenient shuttle bus to Tronchetto (the gateway to Venice's water transport) every 30 minutes for a reasonable €5 return trip.
· Walking to Venice Mestre: A major discovery was that the Venezia Mestre train station is absolutely within walking distance (about 1.9km or 20-25 minutes). The walk is very safe, even early in the morning (we walked at 5 AM without any issues). This is a huge money-saver for getting trains to Venice Santa Lucia or other cities.
Overall, the Hu Venezia Camping Hotel offers outstanding value for money. Get access to a fantastic resort-style pool and easy connections to Venice.

GGuest UserThe hotel was fine. Entarnce stairs could be a problem for people with large luggage. Staff helpful, mostly Italians. Room small with window but on the ground floor which hosts restaurant as well. Because of that, in the morning, there was nois made by people walking for breakfast. Room clean, despite usual mould in the bathroom because of lack of proper vent.
Great localisation.
Worth consideration for a city sightseeing.
GGuest UserOverall it is good! Clean and modern decoration. The location can also be convenient for shopping. It is only 10 minutes away from the city center. The front desk service is also good! In short, it is recommended
GGuest UserExcellent new hotel 100m away from Santa Lucia station. Just opened less than 2 months ago, excellent service and modern new rooms. Breakfast was good with decent options, the only downside I can add is that eggs to order are not included and are charged extra. I think that they should change this policy as almost every other hotel includes eggs to order for breakfast. One amazing gesture when we arrived was the complimentary fruit basket, free bottle of sparkling wine and complimentary mini bar. Almost no other hotels offer this service and that would make me return in an instant. I highly recommend this hotel.
FFaith ChristiansenThe staff are seriously amazing in both the hotel and restaurant. It doesn't have the flashiest decor, but the bed was comfortable, the breakfast simple but good quality. My single bathroom was small and cramped but still worked fine. Overall I would definitely return and recommend as the location was perfect...a max 10 minute walk from all the major attractions.
The pizza in the restaurant was one of the best I ever had and big so I returned for my 2nd night.
EElisa ChanThe hotel is located right smack where the big branded boutiques are located, and 10 mins walk to doge palace and st peter Basilica. However the hotel is very far in. U got to wheel your luggage in, which may damage the wheels. Hence pls bagpack 😅
The hotel look Like a mini museum if only u take the stairs from level 3 and walk down. Very instaworthy. The staff is also very friendly and speak good English.
We got lucky and had a room with the balcony despite the room size is tight but it was manageable. I love the balcony view facing all the houses and church. It has the rustic charms to it.
GGuest UserGreat mountain stay with excellent service and views
I stayed one night at Hotel Villa Argentina during my trip through the Dolomites, and it was a very pleasant experience overall.
Pros:
• The breakfast was excellent, especially the bacon and omelet — a nice touch before heading out for the day.
• The hotel staff were friendly and helpful, making check-in and requests very smooth.
• The view from the hotel is absolutely beautiful, especially if you’re lucky to get a mountain-facing room — peaceful and scenic.
Cons:
• The hotel is a bit far from the town center, so it’s more suited if you have a car or want a quiet stay in nature.
• The building is old, though the rooms and bathrooms have been nicely renovated, so it’s comfortable once you’re inside.
Overall, I’d recommend this hotel for travelers who want a quiet, scenic stop in the Dolomites with good food and service.
JJJJGAn amazing hotel with great location and wonderful service!! A true gem situated down an alley of one of the famous shopping streets in Venice.
Outstanding location: St. Mark’s square, Grand Canal, Bridge of Sigh’s, all these are key attractions which just within walking distance. More importantly easy access to vaporetto stops which can lead to so many other places in Venice, it’s extremely convenient!
Staff are helpful, friendly, attentive and offering to help us on various matters. Excellent service!
Rooms are clean, well decorated with traditional Venetian features, nice flowery design. The room is big and offering very nice and peaceful garden views.
A great continental breakfast was at the courtyard garden, the atmosphere was so relaxed and enjoyed. It was just the right thing and right place to get a day started.
Great value, simply one of my favorites of all time.
PPei ShanAt first, I was hesitant to book this hotel because of the limited reviews. I wasn't sure whether to choose this one or another 4-star hotel, but in the end, I went with this hotel due to its proximity to the train station (1 km) and better rates. To my surprise, everything was great—the room was a good size and very clean. There's also an elevator to reach the rooms, so you don't have to worry about carrying your luggage up stairs. staff are friendly too , they will recommend you where to visit in Verona.
The downside, however, is that the room's soundproofing isn't very strong. I could hear people running or walking in the corridor outside. Additionally, the room key is a traditional key with a heavy keychain, rather than a key card. But it wasn't a major issue for me, as you can leave the key at the reception. The breakfast was decent for the price.
GGuest UserThis stay had a mix of positives and negatives. We were not placed at San Cassiano as expected but were instead transferred to another hotel in their chain, Palazzo Stern. The alternate hotel wasn’t bad—it's located along the Grand Canal and has a lovely terrace. The property itself boasts some impressive design elements, likely stemming from its past as an antique mansion turned hotel. We were given a loft room, which unfortunately didn’t have any windows with a view, and the space was a bit cramped for two large suitcases. On the plus side, the bathroom had a beautiful design. Breakfast was ok, though nothing to rave about. The hotel is a bit of a walk from most attractions unless you opt for a water taxi, with a water taxi stop conveniently located right outside the hotel.
