My experience at Rhiga Royal Hotel was deeply disappointing. At hotels, I encountered many staffs (almost all) who appeared indifferent, cold, and emotionally detached. There were no smiles, no warmth, and no sense of welcome—only rigid, mechanical interactions. Despite paying a high price for accommodation, I felt like an inconvenience rather than a valued guest.
Japan was once famous worldwide for its exceptional service culture and gracious hospitality. Based on my recent experience, that reputation no longer holds true. What remains is efficiency without kindness, politeness without sincerity, and service stripped of human warmth.
This was not just disappointing—it was disheartening.
The hotel appears to be quite old and poorly maintained. The condition of the room shows clear signs of long-term wear and neglect. As shown in the photo, the door frame and lock area are visibly damaged, with peeling paint, cracked surfaces, and poorly repaired sections. This is not a minor cosmetic issue but a sign of aging infrastructure that has not been properly renovated. The overall atmosphere feels tired and neglected, and the property would greatly benefit from serious renovation and refurbishment.
I chose this hotel for my trip to Amanohashidate. Aside from being a bit far and inconvenient without a car, everything else was fine. It offers great value for money; the decor is a bit old but very well maintained. There's just one thing I hope they can improve: when checking in, perhaps they could ask if guests need help laying out the futon. I ended up sweating after trying to put on the duvet cover myself, making my shower a bit pointless. It would be helpful to offer assistance for those unfamiliar with setting up Japanese futons.

Hotel Granvia's location is absolutely fantastic! It's right on the second floor, accessible by elevator on the left once you enter the main entrance of Osaka Station. Plus, there are several other entrances, making it incredibly convenient to get anywhere. Even just around the hotel, there's so much to explore. Inside the station, you'll find both Isetan and Porta shopping malls. The ramen at Ramen Street on Isetan's 10th floor is also delicious – I recommend the tantanmen; it's spicy and incredibly satisfying! When checking out, I bought a Hello Kitty Haruka e-ticket directly on Klook, and I could just scan my phone to enter and exit. The entrance is also right downstairs from the hotel, directly opposite the Kyoto Station entrance. If it's your first time visiting Kyoto, I highly recommend staying at Hotel Granvia.

Overall, our family of three, traveling with our child, had a very pleasant and positive experience. It was comforting to hear many familiar Chinese dialects spoken by the numerous Chinese guests in the lobby. The room was very spacious with excellent facilities, which is quite a rare find in Japan. Its location was also superb, being very close to the shopping street. We could easily take an evening stroll there even after dinner around 9 PM.
We only had two minor downsides:
1. The hotel is located above a main thoroughfare, so traffic noise was quite noticeable at night.
2. The breakfast selection was rather limited. As executive room guests, we had breakfast in the lounge and were not allowed to go to the first-floor dining area. We weren't sure if this was a misunderstanding, so we couldn't tell if the first-floor offerings were more varied.
These were the only issues we encountered.
I recently stayed at Rhino Hotel in Kyoto, and it was a pleasant experience overall! The hotel is conveniently located near Saiin Station, making it easy to explore the city. The room was clean, spacious, and well-equipped with modern amenities. I particularly appreciated the comfortable bed and the quiet ambiance, which made for a restful stay.
The staff were friendly and helpful, providing excellent service throughout my visit. I also enjoyed the complimentary access to the fitness center and pool, which was a nice bonus.
However, the decor felt slightly dated, and the breakfast options could have been more varied. Despite these minor points, I would highly recommend Rhino Hotel for anyone looking for a comfortable and reasonably priced stay in Kyoto
From both the rooms and the restaurant, you can take in the entire panorama of the ancient city. It's clear that to preserve the old capital, no high-rise buildings have ever been constructed—a testament to the government's sustained sincerity and foresight over nearly 150 years. Although it requires a subway ride to the city center, the hotel is very close to Nanzen-ji Temple and not far from the Higashiyama district, both within walking distance, making it convenient to fully experience the beauty of Kyoto.
I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The staff were exceptionally friendly and attentive, providing excellent service throughout my visit. The included meals were absolutely delicious, offering a great variety of flavors. My room was spacious and comfortable, featuring large, cozy beds. The onsen was a delightful addition, adding a relaxing touch to the overall experience. Highly recommend!
The hotel is located across the street from Nijo Castle, about an 8-minute walk away. It takes about 6 minutes to walk to Exit 2 of Nijojo-mae Subway Station. It takes about 25 minutes to walk to Karasuma Oike Subway Station. The location is good. Breakfast was ok. The room is a bit old, there is not even a USB port, and the bed in the twin room is about 1.3 meters long. The hygiene is good.

Online hotel bookings can often feel like a blind box draw, but Dusit Thani was definitely the right pick. Every staff member I encountered had an excellent attitude, the room was spotless, and even though the turndown service only provided a bottle of water, it was a pleasant and thoughtful touch. Thai brands truly excel in their service consciousness and aesthetic sense. The room itself was incredibly comfortable, and with no other guests in the public lobby areas, I thoroughly enjoyed the bliss of reading a book alone.
The advantages are that the surrounding environment is relatively quiet, there are relatively few guests, and there will not be too many problems with the service process; the disadvantages are average cost performance, the landscaping is very rough and does not meet the quality of this price range, especially the hotel restaurant is not recommended, the price is expensive and the taste is very average, the breakfast is also very ordinary, and other means of transportation except taking a taxi are basically walking, and the air conditioner is a bit noisy.

GGuest UserThe price doubles and goes up. I have stayed in this hotel many times. It always feels good. I came here again after many years and felt that the overall service and the quality of the food in the hotel were much worse. In particular, the service may be understaffed during the peak season, but it is indeed a very good hotel. Be sure not to make any mistakes when booking a hotel, otherwise he will be unkind and only care about money!

SShuk YeeStayed for a few nights, really comfortable, heard the sounds of birds and cicadas every day, all the staff were nice and polite, had their own hot springs, after playing you could soak in the hot springs in your room, and the hotel could get your luggage from Kyoto Station round trip to the station, very convenient, because Jiashuiyuan is on the other side of the hotel, like a paradise, the only bad thing is that some insects or geckos will accidentally enter the room, because I am afraid of insects, so have called the hotel The personnel help with it, but basically me, the hotel is really nice.
