The first thing: don’t go here and expect what you see on the Trip.com cover photo!Daming Gong (Palace) is fascinating historically. Countless emperors and their concubines lived here in the 700s AD, and it has a long, colourful history that you can learn all about in the museum. But don’t expect incredibly restored buildings. This place houses many earthed-over ruins, showing the outline of where the buildings were, and a few signs to indicate what was originally there. I liked it, and found it interesting, but it looks nothing like in the photos, apart from the miniature replica town that they have built to show what it once looked like. The museums are definitely worth a visit if you love Chinese history, and learning more specifically about the Tang Dynasty.
