Xishan is located in the west of Kunming City, adjacent to Dianchi Lake, about 15 kilometers away from the urban area. It has dense forests, fresh and elegant environment, and overlooks the vast Dianchi Lake. It has always been a good place for Kunming people and tourists to climb mountains. The caves on the mountain are more ancient and precious, and they are a must-visit place for tourists who love humanities. There are many scenic spots in Xishan Scenic Area, such as Nie'er Tomb and Sanqing Pavilion, all of which have more characteristics. Starting from the entrance of the scenic spot, the way up the mountain is asphalt road, along the way, you can see Dianchi Lake from time to time, you can also encounter Huating Temple, Taihua Temple and other ancient temples, plus the fresh air between the mountains, wandering in it is quite pleasant. It takes about 2 hours to walk from the entrance to the top of the mountain. It is suggested to take the scenic spot environmental protection car directly to the Longmen Gate, after playing with the Longmen, then walk down the hill slowly, which is more relaxed. Longmen refers to a stone carving project between Sanqing Pavilion in Xishan Mountain and Datian Pavilion at the top of the mountain. Hundreds of steps along the way and reliefs, stone carvings and caves can be seen everywhere along the way are carved by the craftsmen of the Qing Dynasty with the most primitive tools bit by bit. The whole engineering history is 72 years before it is completed, which is magnificent. Datian Pavilion is the commanding height of Longmen. It has a special viewing platform. Standing on the platform, it can overlook the vast 500-li Dianchi Lake. After the viewing platform, we can reach Ling Xu Pavilion, which is higher than Da Tian Pavilion and has a broader vision. But the road is very open and flat. At the end of the tour, you can take the Longmen Cableway (25 yuan one way) back to Taihua Villa on the hillside. Walking slowly down the mountain road beside Taihua Villa, we came to Nie'er Tomb not far away. There are Nie Er's Han Baiyu statue and an exhibition hall. The hall has a VOD with headphones, where you can enjoy Nie Er's music works and have a short rest. Go on to Taihua Temple and Huating Temple. The two temples were built in Yuan Dynasty and Tang Dynasty respectively. Bell and Drum Tower, Heavenly King Hall, Daxiong Palace and other main buildings all rose with the mountain trend, showing great grandeur. The two temples are connected by "Taihua Ancient Road". The mountain road on the stone steps is spacious and flat. During walking, it feels quiet and distant, and it can also avoid the flow of people up and down the mountain. Continue to descend, pass Magnolia Garden and Sheng'an Pavilion in turn, and you can return to the gate of the scenic spot.
