I really need to complain about the cleanliness. This hotel had four pillows for two beds, and one of them actually had urine stains on it! It smelled strongly of urine. I went to the front desk to ask for a replacement, but it never came, so I just threw it on the floor – it was unusable! Also, the water quality at the hotel was really bad. I brought my own filter faucet, and the filter element ended up black. I'm so glad I used it!
They saw I was staying with a child for two nights, but didn't offer any extra slippers or toothbrushes, which other hotels usually do proactively.
Furthermore, our room was on the 7th floor, and it happened to be a Sunday. From 4 or 5 AM, there were prayers, which were extremely loud and made it impossible to sleep. I asked the front desk to change rooms, but they said all the suitable rooms were full and there was nothing they could do. In the end, we had to endure it for two nights. 😓
On the positive side, the hotel's buffet was quite good. There were also some local specialty snacks that I tried. And the swimming pool was an infinity pool with a nice view. However, it was mostly local children swimming, so the adults didn't go in. The gym was also very well-equipped.
It was very convenient and close to the largest shopping mall in Surabaya. Downstairs was also a pedestrian street. After dark, there were many places to eat, as well as cafes and bars. It was a nice area to explore.
Overall, it was barely acceptable, but some basic standards should be upheld. Urine stains on a pillow are simply unacceptable; it definitely means the pillowcase wasn't changed! I hope the hotel can improve.
This is my second stay at Batiqa. I’d like to share a balanced review for fellow travelers.
Pros:
Great City View: Staying in Room 809 was a treat because of the city view. It’s a much better experience compared to Room 910, which unfortunately only faces the wall of another building. If you prefer a view, try to request a room on the side that faces the city.
Cons:
Technical Maintenance: I noticed some issues in Room 809 that weren't present in 910. The shower door doesn't close properly, the water pressure is quite weak, and the hot water isn't hot enough (I had to turn the lever fully to the left just to get a decent temperature).
Privacy Disturbance: A bit disappointed with the unsolicited promotional calls. Both during my first and second stays, the hotel staff called the room around 18:00 WIB to offer massage or restaurant services. This is quite intrusive when you're trying to rest after a long day.
Verdict:
The hotel is decent, but they really need to improve their room maintenance and stop the promotional calls to ensure guest privacy. If you stay here, Room 809 has the view, but check the bathroom fixtures immediately.
I’ve stayed in four hotels in Surabaya and this is of course the best one. I liked their amenities, service, cleanliness and their staff! Especially Bella is very sweet and she remembered my name after 2 days which is very impressive! Would recommend this if you need a deep rest the hotel. They can provide you everything!
Clean, spacious, and very comfortable room. For the price of 613k, it was definitely worth it. Unfortunately, check-in was a hassle. The older receptionist said that the booking details had to match the ID of the person checking in. It took a really long time, it was frustrating, and I ended up getting annoyed. However, other staff members were friendly and helped me with my bags to the room, even though I had a lot.
Staff was friendly and the location is central. But the bathroom was smaller than on the pictures, tv had problems and the AC always blown cold air even when it was on 30 degrees. Asked for room change twice, they don’t allowed it
I don’t quite understand the hype surrounding this hotel. Apart from its scenic view and peaceful ambiance, there’s not much else to say about it. The breakfast was ordinary, and you’ll have to pay extra for a cappuccino, while black coffee is the only one that’s free. The TV is also quite small. I’m not planning to return here.
Surprisingly cool hotel! Each room is unique and the interior is unique!
Service from the start of entry and check in was smooth! But we weren't offered a welcome drink heheh maybe because it was already 9pm when we checked in.
The room has a hairdryer, mini bar, 2 glass bottles of mineral water. Get a welcome old school cake snack.
There are 3 children's play areas: beach sand play, soccer board and mini.
The door is iron and unique for the DND sign or make up room using a magnetic attachment
Thank God the breakfast is now a buffet, get information beforehand about the set menu.
Must order room service! It's delicious guys and the packaging is really unique.
The employees are pool friendly!
Minuses:
-bed sheet has spots
-Perhaps it needs to be explained that to use cellphone facilities you must call or SMS.
-Breakfast starts at 7, we arrived at 8.30. The menu needs to be improved so that it doesn't seem empty.
Gonna be back!
Nice view from window. Room is spacious but has contains smell of smoke even though the request is a non-smoking room. Surprised there wasn’t a laundry plastic bag provided in the room for used clothings.
located in the heart of kayutangan where nearby local attraction at, cafes, places, station and Idjen boulevard.
the hotel is clean, has a free valet service for car parking, small pool in the 6th floor facing the street.
the staffs are very accomodate what you needs, they also offer us a free upgraded room to deluxe.
