Miyazaki is a small city so getting around is not difficult if you stay in this hotel. There is a few local buses to the hotel from the JR Miyazaki station. Within walking distance of 10min you can find almost everything from shopping to izakaya. The best part I like is the sauna and hot spring. It has outdoor and indoor hot spring baths and sauna. Amenities in the public bath is complete with lotion, tonic, hair gel, shaving form and even towel is provided so you don't need to bring your own. Overall, a great hotel.
The hotel is big but location is a bit far from anywhere. Aeon is around 10 minutes by car. If you want to dine in the hotel restaurant, better to book earlier. The breakfast is underwhelming, seems to have a lot of choice but nothing really outstanding in quality. The ocean view from the room is really nice though
This is the best decision I’ve made during my trip in Miyazaki. I should have stayed longer here than I did in the previous booking. Almost everything is almost perfect, from the artificial hot spring to the traditional Japanese bedrooms, which are great additions to the Japanese experience. I believe it is one of the most affordable hotels in the area.
The breakfast is a buffet that is included in my stay, and I had to add the Dinner buffet, which is very worth the price since the place doesn't have many restaurants nearby. The hotel is also within a 5-10 minute walk from the JR train station. The staff are also friendly.
I definitely will be back here when I revisit Miyazaki soon. The day I visited was rainy, so I was unable to visit many places.
Miyazaki Kanko Hotel stands along Tachibana Koen-dori Street (1-1-1 Matsuyama, Miyazaki City, Miyazaki Prefecture, 880-8512) overlooking the Oyodo River.
It is a large, well-established hotel.
There is a large hot spring bath on the first floor of the West Wing, and on the second floor is Shokusai Kenbi Ichiboku Ichiso, where the breakfast buffet is located. A dinner buffet is also available.
The hotel is old, so there is nothing new about it, but the rooms are spacious, the utility room is spacious, and the bathtub is also large.
There is only an AC outlet for power, no USB, and the AC at the desk has to be plugged in through a wall socket at the foot of the desk, which gives it a sense of history, but this is not a problem.
I was misled by Ctrip's traffic instructions. I took the Nichinan Line to Orisha Station. Although it was close to the hotel, there were no taxis at the exit. I walked for nearly an hour to get to the hotel. When I checked out, the hotel arranged a free car to take me to the station. There were no restaurants or convenience stores around the hotel, which was a bit inconvenient. The facilities and baths were OK, and many locals came to take a hot spring bath.
Department house の の Cleanliness は Problem なし
There are many insects in the public bath anyway.
I'm going to go to other hot springs, but there's a lot of them here.
I want you to take the insects floating in the hot water regularly.
The scenery was very good
At night, the light outside is too dazzling and the stars are hard to see, so it's better to be a little weaker.
The lobby, the public bath, the view from the restaurant are superb because it is high
It was hard to get a light car because I was going up the slope.
There are free water bottles for people.
There's a cotton swab, emulsion, water server in the public bath.
Ice machines, sake vending machines were also in the elevator.
Cospa was good
The air conditioner in the room seemed to be in bad condition.
It's a pretty negative that it's 17 degrees, but it's not cold and it's hot all the time.
A mixed bag of a hotel. On the one hand, the location is excellent, close to Takachiho Gorge. On the other hand, it's a 15-20 minute walk uphill along a winding road, and about 20-25 minutes uphill to the bus center.
Pros:
- Price
- Shochu tasting
- Hot springs available
- Close proximity to the main attraction
- Kids' area available
- There's a smoking area inside the hotel, but it's not covered (you'll get wet if it rains)
Cons:
- The hotel is old, and it shows
- There are many spiders in the hotel, which is understandable given its location. Bed bugs might also fly in.
- The tatami mats are old, with huge gaps between them.
- No convenience stores or supermarkets nearby.
- Tattoos are not allowed in the public baths.
This ryokan is wonderfully located in the tranquil area of Iwato, maintaining a traditional style that perfectly embodies what you'd expect from a ryokan. It features a lovely onsen on-site, which is incredibly relaxing after a long day. Both the traditional breakfast and dinner are outstanding! There's also a private parking lot available for guests with a car. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and can highly recommend this accommodation!
