Alishan Sacred Tree Relics

The remains of Alishan Shenmu are near Shenmu Station, from seed to fallen wood, and have experienced thousands of years of wind and rain. The moment the seed fell, the land that took root determined the greatness of life, the winding annual ring is the annals of history that has been with you for thousands of years, depicting countless hardships, countless seasons and years of prosperity. In 1906, the Japanese rule period found red dragonfly trees, 50 meters high, 25 meters around the chest height, guessed that the tree age more than 3,000 years, respect the god wood. In 1914, the entire line of Alishan Forest opened to traffic, the towering Alishan Shenmu and the driving forest train scene is almost the spiritual symbol of Alishan, and has become a famous landmark of Taiwan in China and abroad. In 1953, Alishan Shenmu was unfortunately burned by thunder and injured. On June 7, 1956, Shenmu was hit by lightning again, and the tree trunk caught fire, and Shenmu eventually burned to death. In June 1997, heavy rains continued in the mountains, and the water load of Shenmu was overloaded and the soil was loose. At 10.05am on July 1, the support collapsed. One third of the trees were dumped on the railway, and two thirds remained in place. On June 29, 1998, with the respect and reluctance of all sectors, the tree was brought down, and the tree was returned to the arms of nature, and the red elm seedlings were planted in place to symbolize the endless growth of the tree. The temperament of the old red scorpion, the continuation and creation of the next generation of eternity, life starts from the place of end, writing down the myth after the millennium.
