Northwest Grand Loop | Six Days and Five Nights The Most Comprehensive Self-Driving Route
Shanghai-Jiayuguan-Guazhou-Dunhuang-Lenghu Town-Chaidan Town-Dunhuang-Jiayuguan-Shanghai
Day1
Shanghai to Jiayuguan, stay in Jiayuguan
Arrived in Jiayuguan at night, had dinner and went to sleep, the barbecue in the great Northwest is awesome!
Day2
Jiayuguan-Guazhou-Dunhuang, stay in Dunhuang
The second day after brunch, we headed to Dunhuang, passing through Guazhou, where there is the stunning Son of the Earth! It's that huge baby statue, with some other sculptures nearby, worth a look on the way
In the afternoon, we went to the Mingsha Mountain, where you can ride camels. And I was so excited to see the desert for the 1st time, took hundreds of photos!
In the evening, we arranged for desert camping, the camp staff drove us into the depths of the desert in an off-road vehicle, there were no people in this desert, less than ten people at the camp that day, the whole desert felt like it belonged to me, sitting on the desert watching the sunset was really romantic, I personally like it here more than Mingsha Mountain
At night, we had barbecue in the desert, watched the stars, and had a bonfire party. It was a night worth reminiscing over and over again🎑
🤍Day3
Dunhuang-Heidushan, stay in Lenghu Town
In the morning, we went to the Mogao Caves, a glimpse of a thousand years❗️ A treasure of stone carving and mural art‼️ Really shocking! It made me want to cry, no amount of documentaries can compare to the feeling of being there
It's really worth it‼️ Unfortunately, all the murals are not allowed to be photographed, so the beauty remains only in memory.
After visiting the Mogao Caves, we set off for Heidushan. Heidushan has that otherworldly beauty, standing on the black sand and stone ground, looking at the black scenery, it feels like being on another planet. The wind is very strong there, so dress warmly. It is recommended to drive a four-wheel drive, otherwise, it's easy to get stuck.
🤍Day4
Heidushan-Bicolor Lake-Water Yadan-Dongtaijiner Lake, stay in Chaidan Town
Bicolor Lake was just a casual stop along the way, the actual color difference is not as obvious as online, no need to go out of the way to see it.
Water Yadan is beautiful, with unique landforms, and the scenic area is large, you can find areas with fewer people to take photos. Very photogenic
Dongtaijiner Lake💦, is a bit like Chaka Salt Lake, you can choose to visit just one of them.
🤍Day5
Dachaidan Emerald Lake-Aseke Oil Town-Dunhuang, stay in Dunhuang
Dachaidan is super beautiful, can't help but marvel at the magic of nature, suitable for aerial photography. It's also particularly cold and windy, I wore a down jacket and still felt cold
Aseke Oil Town was also on the way, it has a bit of an American West feel, quite photogenic.
🤍Day6
Dunhuang-Jiayuguan✈️Shanghai
【Northwest Travel Tips】
➡️The temperature changes greatly, bring both light and heavy clothes, it's 30 degrees in Dunhuang, but it's cold even with a down jacket in Qinghai.
➡️Rent a drone‼️Many of the landscapes in the Northwest can't show their beauty without a drone‼️
Wish everyone a happy journey😀
The Mogao Grottoes scenic spot is quite famous. After playing, I feel that it is not interesting. Maybe I don’t have art cells. The scenic spot does not let me take pictures. I have seen four or five caves in total. I personally feel that there is no Longmen Grottoes in Luoyang. The Crescent Spring Scenic Area is also in the primary school textbooks. I have read it, and the expectations are quite high. Not achieving the desired effect!
In a moment, a thousand years. Wang Chaoge is right, your breathing and body temperature are all harm to the "like" in the cave. If Wang Yuanxuan's sins are not to continue, only the earth that has endured thousands of years of sorrow and joy, and the images that witness an eternal moment, how much awe, understanding, and compassion.
Very shocking place, everyone must go and see, there are all kinds of stories in the Qianfo Library. It's a pity that we didn't grab the special library ticket staff 20 or 30 one-team tour guides explained very well.
The appointment is convenient, the customer service patiently answers questions, directly brush the ID card into the scenic spot, Mingsha Mountain Crescent Spring and shoe cover, no additional money to rent, students to March 31 Mingsha Mountain Crescent Spring is free, bought tickets customer service also took the initiative to contact us to refund the difference, really satisfied.
There is a bus at the entrance of the Yiyuan Hotel on Dunhuang Silk Road. It runs every 20 minutes to the Mogao Grottoes Digital Center, the railway station, and the airport. There is a bus at 8:10. The first bus from the hotel is 6:25 and the last bus is 18:10. The fare to Mogao Grottoes is 5 yuan.
The staff was very enthusiastic and helped to adjust the visit time. The order was very convenient. The itinerary and attractions were very good. Dunhuang is worth coming a few more times to feel this deep cultural connotation and a happy journey.
It is worth a visit. You can make an appointment online or through Trip.com at Dunhuang Research Institute. Now it is 238 yuan in the peak season. Take your ID card to pick up the ticket and print it yourself. After entering, it is the digital Mogao Grottoes. It is to watch two movies first, and one introduces the history of Mogao Grottoes. A more classic cave murals and statues you are about to see. After reading it, the bus pulls you to the field to see. Twenty individual guests join a group, and you can hear the guide who takes you to the group on the ear. These are all included in the ticket. After listening to the explanation, you can disband your own activities.
