Jiangzi Zongshan Castle

In the light and windy afternoon, our chartered driver took us to visit Yanghu Lake and went all the way to Shigatse. On the way, we would pass the Jiangyan Zongshan Ancient Castle. The driver found us the best angle to shoot the castle. He took a photo and left without going in.

Zongshan Ancient Fort is now a park for the anti-British battle in 1904, and the site stands on the cliffs in the center of the ancient city of Jiangyan. Jiangyan's military and civilian resistance at the last moment, still fighting with stones, and finally all the warriors would rather die than jump to the cliff. Zongshan still retains the fort of the anti-British, and the movie "Red River Valley" reproduces this tragic history of anti-British combat.

There are two famous attractions in the Shigatse River in the Tibet Autonomous Region, one is Zongshan Ancient Fort and the other is Parra Manor. These two attractions are representative historical preservation of Tibetan culture. You must come to Shigatse to see it.

Jiangxi Ancient Fort (Jiangxi Zongbao): Located in Jiangxi County, Tibet, it is also called Jiangxi Zongshan Ancient Fort. The stone mountain where the ancient castle is located is called Zongshan, "Zongshan". In the past, Tibet was an administrative unit. There is an existing Jiangxi Zongshan Anti-British site. There is a famous Baiju Temple nearby. What makes Jiangyan most famous is that it has a heroic history of singing and crying. In April 1904, the British army attacked Jiangyan again. They used advanced weapons to kill innocent people indiscriminately. The Tibetan army and civilians resisted with earth-made guns on the mountain for more than two months. Finally, due to the corruption and incompetence of the Qing government, the weapons were backward and the gunpowder warehouse was accidentally exploded, and the bomb was exhausted. The warriors of the resistance to the British died. The fort of the resistance to the British has still been preserved on the mountain. The four stone monuments that the minister patroled during the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty are still well preserved and have very important cultural relics value. In memory of the heroes of the anti-British a century ago, today a monument to the heroes of the river and the mountains is erected in the square under the mountain. The film "Red River Valley" is based on this historical fact.
