Pearl Spring

Pearl Spring is one of the four famous springs in Jinan (Baotu Spring, Black Tiger Spring, Pearl Spring, Wulongtan). It used to be the residence of the governor of Shandong. Compared with Baotu Spring, which is full of tourists, the courtyard where Pearl Spring is located is much quieter. It is very pleasant to come here to appreciate the spring and take a walk. To see Pearl Spring, you can enter from the south gate of the Provincial People's Congress at No. 1 Yuanqian Street, or from the north gate on Qushuiting Street on the northwest side of the courtyard. Now in the courtyard, except for the office area, which is blocked from entering, the Pearl Spring landscape area can be visited free of charge. The spring water of Pearl Spring is as clear as blue. Standing on the floating pavilion on the south bank of the pool, you can see a string of white bubbles gushing out from the bottom of the pool not far from the pool, like floating pearls, so it has the reputation of "Pearl Spring". There are willows hanging lightly by the spring pond, and there are white stone fences, which are beautifully reflected in the pond. There are also carp in the pond, and tourists often feed the fish here, which is very leisurely. The courtyard where Pearl Spring is located has a quiet environment, with rockeries and trails, and has the artistic conception of Jiangnan gardens. In the northwest corner of the spring, there is Zhuoying Pond, which is formed by the gathering of spring water, which pours into Daming Lake to the north. On the west side of Luoguo Bridge in the park, there is a Song Dynasty Begonia with a height of five or six meters. It has a history of thousands of years. According to legend, it was planted by Zeng Gong, the prefect of Jinan in the Northern Song Dynasty. There are also some small springs around Pearl Spring, such as Chu Spring, Xiting Spring, Shun Spring, Yuhuan Spring, Taiyi Spring, etc., all of which are part of the Pearl Spring group. On the west side of the Shandong Provincial People's Congress is the famous snack street in Jinan, Furong Street. If it happens to be a meal after watching Pearl Spring, you can go and taste various delicacies.
