I have organized some strategies for bamboo rafting on the Li River and in Yangshuo, 🉑 for reference! 📍Tour route: Xingping Ancient Town→Li River Bamboo Raft→Yulong River Bamboo Raft→Ten-Mile Gallery ✅️Attraction Strategies 📍Xingping Ancient Town: After exiting Yangshuo high-speed train station, buy a bus ticket to Xingping Ancient Town on the left-hand side, 5 yuan per person, the journey takes 15 minutes. In Xingping Ancient Town, you can rent an electric scooter to go to the 20 yuan photo spot + the old man's internet-famous photo spot, you can go down to the riverside to take pictures, and pose with the fisherman grandpa, 20r 📍Li River Electric Bamboo Raft: The electric bamboo raft seats 4 people, you can share a raft, and tickets can be bought at any pier ticket office, there are three routes for the electric bamboo raft Route 1⃣: Zhaoqingshan Pier→Mashan Pier Ticket + bamboo raft 120r, round trip about 50min. This route offers the essence of the Li River: the 20 yuan background and Nine Horses Painting Mountain. You can walk or take a 30r sightseeing car to Zhaoqingshan Pier Route 2⃣: Zhaoqingshan Pier→Yangdi Pier There are both one-way and round-trip options, one-way takes about 90min, 225r. It includes the 20 yuan background, Nine Horses Painting Mountain, Shanshui Peak, Carp Hanging on the Wall, Eight Immortals Crossing the Sea, etc. This segment is often crowded with tour groups, long in duration, and can lead to aesthetic fatigue, plus the electric noise and smell of oil, making the experience just average Route 3⃣: Mashan Pier→Yangdi Pier One-way takes about 50min, round trip about 80min, 120r. This segment only has the Nine Horses Painting Mountain as a scenic spot 📍Yulong River Bamboo Raft: Manually operated bamboo raft, you can go over dams, comfortable and thrilling, four essence routes: Route 1⃣: Jimamato Pier→Gongnong Bridge Pier (320r) Double raft, one-way takes about 90min, 9 dams, two sections of scenery, mountains + bamboo forest Route 2⃣: Fuli Bridge→Sanchakou (358r) There are double, triple, and quadruple rafts, round trip about 40min. This segment is a bit far from the county town, quite stable, suitable for families with children and elderly Route 3⃣: Jinlong Bridge Pier→Old County Comprehensive Pier (320r) Double raft, one-way takes about 90min, 9 dams, large drop, suitable for friends who like thrills Route 4⃣: Shui'edi Pier→Gongnong Bridge Pier (200r) Double raft, one-way takes about 40min, there are 4 dams, the scenery is good, this route is quite popular, not too long or too short, and the dam crossing is also enough 📍Ten-Mile Gallery: After taking the bamboo raft from the old county, ride an electric scooter along the Ten-Mile Gallery. Guilin and the surrounding areas have many naturally beautiful attractions to visit, and top of the list has to be the scenic Li River. With its jagged-shaped hills slicing into the sky, clear water and lush vegetation, it is a true heaven on earth. Having been here before in 2018, when it was full of people, we took the opportunity to visit again together as a small group. We were lucky with three things-the weather was excellent, there were no tourists and also COVID travel restrictions had just been removed completely. It proved to be perfect-timing indeed, as we will unlikely be able to experience such a unique set of circumstances ever again. To get here, you will definitely need a private car. The best thing to do is stay in Guilin and rent your own car for the day, or just hire a driver-which is what we did here. It is around a 2-hour drive here, so definitely suggest arriving early at around 9am for this special sightseeing attraction, although there was nobody here when we came. Usually large tour groups can take a large boat up the river, but this wasn't available on the day we came, so we rented two small boats for our group of 5 people. Each boat seats 4 people, so we had to pay for the 3 empty seats at 63¥ per seat, but was well worth it, considering we had the whole place to ourselves! It is also worth mentioning not to eat around here as it tends to be expensive, just drive around 10km away and eat lunch elsewhere. Another thing is that you can combine the Li River with several other attractions on the same day, therefore maximizing your time and money. Definitely, I would recommend visiting here, usually it's one of the busiest tourist destinations in China, but we just couldn't pass up the opportunity to have it to ourselves for just one day! #tripblazers #mytripvlog #2023travelwish

The traditional form of Chinese ink painting that are so often seen on scrolls, old and new, are called shanshui – meaning mountain and water. For it is the tall mountains and flowing water that are the subject of traditional paintings and it is here along the Li River that has inspired the most famous of these artworks. This region is so famous for its beauty that it even features on China’s 20 RMB banknote. The Li River flows past the large city of Guilin and 90 kms later joins the Yulong River at the smaller town of Yangshuo. It is from here that many visitors base themselves for a few days. The Li River is very much the life blood of the region and boats large and small take guests along here. Most choose to take a slow trip following the current on a bamboo raft which are ubiquitous to the region. The Li River (Lijiang) is a popular journey in the Guangxi province; many travellers choose to cruise the length between Guilin and Yangshuo, and it’s easy to see why – the landscapes are out of this world! Karst mountains rise up from either side of the river, giving way to one of the most magical journeys in the world. The place is so spectacular that it’s actually printed on the back of the 20 Yuan notes – that’s saying something. Seeing the famed Li River can be done in three ways: on a raft, on a cruise, or on foot. Hiking is a great option for the fit, adventurous traveler. The trek from Yangdi to Xingping, about 22 kilometers, takes four to five hours. The trail is pretty straightforward and never strays too far from the river. It’s free and you have full control of everything.

The Auruá Hotel in Yangshuo is one of the most beautiful hidden gems I’ve found in China. It is a luxury resort that has been built into an old sugar mill and has so much history and character. The staff is incredible, the buildings are incredible, the food is incredible, the rooms are incredible, the pool is INCREDIBLE. Really, I cannot say enough good things about our stay here. It is located directly on the Li river and the views are immaculate. I traveled 🧳 from Guangzhou to Yangshuo by train 🚆. It took around 3.5 hours. And the train station is around 30-40 minutes far from the city center. I will tell you more about Yangshuo in a specific post. In this post I will talk about the photoshoot. 📸 💰 I payed around 1800 RMB and got 70 photos. ⏱ I went to the office around 3pm to choose a dress, hairstyles and do make up (all included in the price). 🚘 After I was ready around 5pm the photographer took me to this place, everything was ready. 👩🏻 Because I couldn’t speak Chinese, the company sent a girl to help me to communicate with other. ⏱ We finished around 8pm. #guilin #yangshuo #traveller #photography #chinalife #awesomepic
