Lugu Lake (泸沽湖）
it was a far way to arrive there from Lijiang ancient town. I only remembered I was sleeping all way through, but every time I woke up, we hadn’t arrived🥲 climbed 5 mountains, took 4 hours, we finally arrived Lugu Lake!
on the way to Lugu Lake, we can see Jinsha River(金沙江). Love this turquoise green!
Lugu Lake viewing platform. There was super crowded, I went on the workdays, couldn’t imagine if it is in weekends or holiday... but the most disappointing thing is, there’s a row of trees blocking the view! Very difficult to shoot nice pictures there. So if you are driving on this trip, wouldn’t recommend you to go there to see the view. You can definitely stop by somewhere to get the better views.
Boat tour in Lugu Lake. it took around 1 hour to finish the trip. Water is very clean and clear, many birds were following us for food
Beach of Lugu Lake, in the morning
another side of the Lake.
if you want to stay in the hotel near by the Lake, it is not necessary to book the Lake view rooms. You won’t get a nice view from room, pointless to waste money.
Lugu Lake, half in Yunnan and half in Sichuan. The driver said, we are in Sichuan now, then we can enter Yunnan again. It’s far from Lijiang around 5 hours in car with several scenic stops.

Today I came to the beautiful Penghu, where I will play cards almost every year. Different from the past, this time it is specially designed to sneak into the innovative submarine artifact.
Lugu Lake is located between Ninglang County of Yunnan Province and Yanyuan County of Sichuan Province. It is named as such because it is shaped like a gourd. The lake is about 2,600 meters above sea level and locals see it as a beautiful pearl shining among the hills of the Northwest plateau. The Mosuo people living on the lake are one of the key highlights of the attraction. They are one of the few matriarchal societies remaining in modern world as women play the role of production and management, holding the principal position in society. There is no marriage, men stay in the women's home as mates called 'Axia' and the intimate relationship lasts as long as they like. While on board a local boat, you will notice that the lake is crystal-clear with swarms of seagulls flying over the water. The surrounding scenery is like a painting that is worth seeing at least once a lifetime!
