Madagascar is the world's most abundant animal and plant resources, and here the Andasibe National Forest Reserve, has a rich animal and plant resources. Especially the animals here, there are many animals, are unique on Madagascar Island, very precious, really worth visiting, explore.

Parking is a bit expensive but hey, it's to do, so don't regret it. Depart at 7am and there is a park guide. Before entering the park, we bought something to go for a picnic, which is preferable when we want to see maximum. Then we started hiking and enjoying the magnificent scenery, beautiful nature, and my guide made me discover all the beauty of this park. Be careful to take a large bottle of water as we needed it. Don’t forget the sunscreen as the shadows on the spot are not obvious. It was pure bliss for 16 km. Special mention to my park guide Zozoly who shared his passion for the park with us, he had angelic patience and let me take all the photos I wanted and even told me where to find cool angles to take pictures. Gold medal 🥇 Zozoly's best tour guide.

It is a wonderful national park with beautiful waterfalls and a spectacular scenery from where you can take pictures of nice, legendary mysterious rainforest and the fog around it. However, things can get difficult if it rains. We had a very difficult and laborious 4-5 hour walk. It was raining all the time, there was a lot of mud and it was slippery. When walking - downhill. I even fell once. So be sure to bring your raincoat and a good pair of shoes because it rains here most of the year, although most of the time is so bad it was the day we went, our guide said. He was very competent and we did his best to observe lemur as many species as possible. We met lemurs, brown lemurs and bamboo. Seeing them was hard to get in the rain, but our guide and his assistants, who all sent to find lemurs, did a good job. Honestly. I wasn’t impressed we saw a great distance from the beginning only lemurs and a tree at the top. But at the end of the trip we had the opportunity to see a great raised bamboo and eat a piece of bamboo just a few steps away, about 10 minutes. It was amazing! We spent great videos and I still admired them. By the way, be careful with the otter. Everywhere. My husband ordered a few of them in his hands and one even in his face. It is easy to remove it, but you have to be careful, use mosquito repellent and cover yourself well. All in all it is not a lightweight but it is worth it.

There were only four of us drivers, our companion Helda, my wife and I. We had an SUV so everything was easy. Helda told us a lot about this country and its people in German. If we return to Madagascar, I will book again with Juluot, which also offers excursions to Nossi Bay at unparalleled prices.

We walked around in the dark with only a guide flashlight, and maybe we came in the wrong season and we didn't see any lemurs, nests (?) or any animals. We saw a baby elephant ear chameleon. The tour was coming to an end soon as our guide was stung by something on the wooden railings. When we were on a night tour, I was worried it might happen to us.

Beautiful little gems to visit nature in a downpour (rainy season required). It is hard to describe the richness of the plants and animals in this park, and again: we didn't see much. The guide was breathtaking in language and a complete lack of modern equipment, and his knowledge of this biodiversity was simply breathtaking. We had lunch on site at noon and the facilities were very rudimentary: simply fantastic. The only downside, but common in Madagascar: Unfortunately, this level of wealth development is so low, the feeling is that the public authorities don’t care about it and the local residents, focus on their daily survival, don’t know the wealth they sit on. Go explore.

From Maro Ansettela and Antaraja you can reach Masoara National Park. The most practical way to get there is from Maro Ansettela and stay in the calmer Antongier Bay on the sea. If you are looking for a very unique adventure that should be taken in your lifetime, consider taking the elevated 4x4 from Antananarivo to Maro Ansettera. From Soanierana Ivongo to Maroantsetra, you will be travelling along an extremely difficult road with a maximum speed of 100 km/h in a day. Sometimes, depending on the season, you can only run 50 kilometers a day. Most people choose the simple way: take a boat from Maro Ansettera to Maro Asoara and stop at Maro Asoara for a day or two. Then, take a boat back to Maro Ansettera and stop at Nossi Mangabe. A full hike on the Masoara Peninsula: it can start from Maro Ansettera, but we recommend taking a boat to Ambanizana and then walking from there. The second hiking trip through Masoara is a three-day hiking trip from Maro Ansettela to Antaraja. This time is shorter, but the chance of seeing animals is smaller due to deforestation. Some guides are able to connect two trips depending on your stay. Before departure, you need to have a good understanding of the trails negotiated with a guide in the national park. Remember, Masoala is much better than Andasibe National Park. You will enjoy more wildlife and this is a different experience!
