A Small Shrine and Ibaraki House
Passed by and attracted by the Torii gate and found out there was a small walkway leading to the Shrine on top. A simple and small shrine. Next to the Torii gate was an Ibaraki house. Friendly uncles ...
I stopped by on the way from the former Aoyama family villa to the Otaru Aquarium. I was the only one, but my uncle explained it carefully and concisely, and I learned a lot from listening to the method of fishing for salmon and the story of Kitamaebune. I was able to complement the fact that the palace did not explain much, so the subsequent tour progressed. Especially recommended for those who like Golden Kamui. I heard that it was open until July 〜 October.
When I visited Ebisu Shrine for sightseeing in Otaru, the magnificent wooden building next to the torii gate was this herring fishing facility. At first I wasn't so interested, but I was fascinated by the presence of the hall 々. It seems that there is an opening period.
It was on the way from Otaru to the aquarium. Since I went there in December, the public opening period has ended, but you can see the houses in the old days when herring fishing was thriving. It's not a luxurious structure like herring palace, but it had a tasteful appearance compared to the offices of this era.

Herring
There was a nedi where the fisherman stayed around the wall. There was also a hearth, and it was interesting to imagine various times.
Please visit during the opening season.
