What travelers say:

Founded in 1878, the synagogue is a beautiful building, and it is still frequently used by Jewish groups in Sydney. The design of the synagogue shows the evolution of Judaism. Our tour guide said that the chanting table (the pulpit) was originally located in the center of the large shelter, but in order to accommodate more people and use the space more efficiently, it was moved to the front. Men and women are still separated, and the seats are divided into ground and balcony. Visits are restricted, so check their website to avoid disappointment. A nominal fee will be charged.
