Guangzong Temple

Guangzong Temple has a long history and is one of the famous Han Buddhist monasteries in Wutai Mountain. It is located below the top of Bodhisattva. It is relatively large in scale. The temple interior is Sensen, Sanskrit, and the religious atmosphere is rich and the incense is full.

Every temple in Wutai Mountain has its back story, which is known as one of the top ten temples in the Qing Temple. For people of faith, it is necessary to worship any temple, and for us tourists, to visit every temple to have a good look.

Guangzong Temple is located in the core area of Taihuai Town, Wutai Mountain, adjacent to the famous Bodhisattva top. The temple is small in scale and has high regulations. There are sage points written by Emperor Kangxi in the temple, and most of the buildings are left over from the Qing Dynasty.

“广宗”两字，意为广弘正宗佛法。广宗寺位于五台山灵鹫峰山腰、菩萨顶的下边，始建于明正德二年，清代重修。该寺的天王殿就在通往菩萨顶的路边。广宗寺俗称铜瓦殿。该寺坐北朝南，背依灵鹫峰，面临台怀诸寺，规模虽小，但布局严谨，列为五台山十大青庙之一。免费参观。【小知识】寺院分为青庙和黄庙两种，青庙住和尚，黄庙（藏传佛教寺院）住喇嘛。五台山历史上有360座寺庙，菩萨顶是传说中的文殊菩萨居住处，为五台山黄庙之首。现存寺庙四十余处。“青庙黄庙共一山，和尚喇嘛同颂经”，说的便是五台山。
