Luodousha, shaped like a Luodou, like a golden hairpin, and a seahorse, is also called Xinsha Island by the locals in Xuwen. It is located on the sea about 50 kilometers east of Xuwen County, Leizhou Peninsula. According to legend, during the reign of Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty (1662-1722), there was a sand island about 1000 meters east of the island. At first it was submerged under the sea, and only when the tide was low did the long sandbars emerge. Later, due to the tidal action, the sandbar became more exposed and higher, forming an island called Xinsha Island, which was also called Luodousha because of its shape. Xinsha Island is 7750 meters long, 1500 meters wide and covers an area of 4.9 square kilometers. Northeast-southwest, high and wide in the east, low and narrow in the west. The sand on the island is soft and contains black minerals, making it sound when you step on it. There are casuarina forests, Limulus vines and Cyperus chinensis are flourishing. Seabirds inhabited them and chirped sweetly. The environment is quiet, like Xianzhou. Living in Luodou is like riding a fairy boat on the sea, looking back and looking back, the sea and the sky are boundless and boundless. Listening to the tide is like a drum, and the wind is like a string, there is no fun. Xinsha Island originally had two harbors, where 40-ton ships could take shelter from the wind and berth. In 1979, the state-run Qianshan Sheltering Forest Farm in Xuwen County planted more than 100 mu of Casuarina forest on this island, which has now become a dense shade. In the waters around the island, there are a series of strange reefs, and the sound of the tide is like a drum. It is rich in yellow croaker, grouper, large yellow croaker, horse friend fish, moray eel, nine-section shrimp and so on. It is one of the main yellow croaker farms in Guangdong Province. Every spring flood season, fishing boats go back and forth, casting nets for fishing, and it is very busy. This island goes deep into the South China Sea, where you can enjoy the magnificent seascape, the surging waves, and a pleasant baptism of body and mind. There, you can enjoy sea bathing, sunbathing, and beach bathing without restraint. Running on the white sand beach, you will hear the wonderful sound of the beach, known as the ringing beach. You will also discover the wonders of mirages on the beach. You can also have a picnic and enjoy the delicious yellow croaker. Listen to birdsong, observe and feel the similarities and differences between bird eggs and turtle eggs. Because Luodousha (Xinsha Island) is a well-known seabird island in the Leizhou Peninsula, a paradise for seabirds, where seabirds live and breed all year round. Especially in May and June every year, seabirds gather on the island to lay eggs. The eggs in the sand nests are of different colors and sizes, which are very cute. This is an ecological highlight that adds a little spice to ecotourism. Although Xinsha Island is not small, it is still in danger of being submerged by large typhoons and extraordinary sea tides. In addition, it penetrates deep into the belly of the South China Sea. Therefore, Xinsha Island has not yet had permanent residents, except for islanders - seabirds. , and occasionally only temporary fishermen.
