Big Fish Mountain is located in the gray turtle ocean waters in the northwest of Daishan Island, 24 kilometers away from Gaoting Town in the east. It forms a "volcanic archipelago" with about 35 islands and reefs such as Xiaoyu Mountain, Da, Xiaochen Mountain, and Yuxingnao nearby, and the main island is Dayu Mountain. The open sea area of Big Fish Mountain has a good natural landscape of the small island, which is rich in a variety of marine life. During the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the War of Liberation, the New Fourth Army's Coastal Defense Brigade and the East China Sea Guerrilla Corps were stationed on the island successively, leaving behind some impressive heroic deeds and cultural and historical monuments.
