Grit and grandeur coexist seamlessly in Marseille, an exuberantly multicultural port city with a pedigree stretching back to classical Greece and a fair claim to the mantle of France's second city. Once seen as somewhat dirty and dangerous, and lacking the glamour of Cannes or St-Tropez, this black sheep of the Provençal coastline has blossomed in cultural confidence since its 2013 stint as the European Capital of Culture. The addition of a brace of swanky new museums is just the outward sign of an optimism and self-belief that's almost palpable.
Marseille's heart is the vibrant Vieux Port (old port), mast-to-mast with yachts and pleasure boats. Just uphill is the ancient Le Panier neighbourhood, the oldest section of the city. Also worth an explore is the République quarter, with its stylish boutiques and Haussmannian buildings, and the Joliette area, centred on Marseille’s totemic Cathédrale de Marseille Notre Dame de la Major.

#marseille is a big city in southern France on the shores of the Mediterranean sea. I really liked the central square which is almost at the sea and nearby the yacht marina. There is a ferris wheel and very good architecture. It is accessible both by air and sea because of the airport and the cruise ship terminal that are very developed and busy. There is also a castle on the hill but I couldn't manage to get there.
#happynewyear from Paris! Montmartre is the most beautiful neighborhood. #montmartre #paris

In the southern French town of Arles, revisit the scenes in the famous paintings h
Arles is an old town in the south of France, but many people know the name because of the Dutch painter Van Gogh. The genius painters who are not understood by the world have created hundreds of works here, and have fixed this town forever in the glory of art.
Arles Arena is the most conspicuous building in a small town. You don't need to pay attention to it, you can easily see its proud standing in every corner of the city. It was built during the Roman Empire and was originally used for performances in duels, chariots, etc. It has continued its function as a "theatre" in modern times. Van Gogh also painted the grand scene of the Arles Arena party here.
[What else can you see besides Van Gogh?
The most romanized French town
In addition to the Arles Arena mentioned above, there are many Romanesque buildings in the city of Arles, including the Church of St. Tophim (Eglise Saint Trophime) ), Republic Square, etc., the city layout is also very Roman style, you can take a walk in the streets of the town, feel the "Gale of Rome".

Let me briefly introduce Provence, which is not a city but a large region, composed of cities such as Marseille, Avignon, Arles and Aix. The plane arrives in Marseille and the train arrives at Marseille or Avignon.
This time from Bordeaux by train to Avignon, take a day trip to Avignon with lavender fields. The best travel status is still self-driving tour, stop and go is not limited by time. Unfortunately, I don't drive, I can only choose to charter or carpool.
