🇦🇹 Third Country — AUSTRIA
Austria | Travel in 4 Seasons 🏔️🌿
Austria is a country you can visit year-round, offering old towns, mountains, lakes, and outdoor activities. Each season offers a distinctly different experience. 🇦🇹✨ 2026 travel information highlights both the main seasons and the increasingly popular Spring–Autumn season.
🌸 SPRING | March–May
The weather starts to warm up 🌿, ideal for exploring cities, culture, and nature, especially during April–May when many areas enter their outdoor tourism season.
📍 Vienna · Salzburg · Hallstatt
☀️ SUMMER | June–August
Mountains turn green, lakes are beautiful, perfect for hiking, cycling, and lakeside excursions 🥾🚲
📍 Hallstatt · Zell am See · Innsbruck · Salzkammergut
Austria states that Summer is ideal for hiking, cycling, and lakeside activities.
🍂 AUTUMN | September–November
The weather cools down, and the mountains and forests begin to change color 🍁. Perfect for city tours, exploring culture, food, and enjoying nature without strenuous activities.
📍 Vienna · Salzburg · Wachau · Tyrol
April–May and September–November accounted for 28.1% of all overnight stays in 2025, reflecting the increasing importance of the transition period between seasons.
❄️ WINTER | December–February
Immediately enter the snowy world 🏔️❄️, especially in the Alps. Ideal for skiing, snowboarding, winter hiking, and visiting Christmas markets.
📍 Innsbruck · Tyrol · Salzburg · Vorarlberg
The ski season in many areas begins in late November. And the highlands in Tyrol and Salzburg have a good chance of snow.
✨ Easy to remember:
🌸 City + Culture → Spring / Autumn
🏞️ Lake + Hiking → Summer
🎿 Snow + Ski → Winter
🇦🇹 Austria = Beautiful cities + Mountains + Lakes + Culture. A great place to visit all year round 🌍✈️

Why Hohe Tauern National Park Deserves More Attention
📍 Austria
Some destinations impress you with famous landmarks. Hohe Tauern National Park impressed me with something even better—raw, untouched natural beauty.
I visited expecting stunning mountain views, but I didn't realize how diverse the landscape would be. Throughout the day, I encountered alpine meadows, dramatic peaks, crystal-clear streams, and powerful waterfalls. Every stop along the journey felt like discovering a new side of the Austrian Alps.
What surprised me most was how peaceful it felt. Even in popular areas, there was plenty of space to slow down, enjoy the scenery, and appreciate the sounds of nature. It never felt overcrowded, which made the experience even more enjoyable.
One of my favorite moments was simply standing at a viewpoint and watching clouds drift across the mountains. No attraction, no schedule—just incredible scenery stretching as far as I could see.
Travel tips:🌄 Start early to enjoy the best views and quieter trails.📸 Keep your camera ready at all times.🧥 Bring layers, as temperatures can change throughout the day.🚗 Plan several stops instead of rushing through the park.
For travelers who love mountains and nature, Hohe Tauern National Park is one of Austria's greatest hidden treasures. It may not receive the same attention as some famous European destinations, but it easily became one of the highlights of my trip.
