Next to the fort is the Boboli Gardens. It used to be the place where the Medici received guests and rode horses.
Cross over the Ponte Vecchio and head to the Pitti Palace, go beyond the palace to the entry to the garden (shorter lines and 1 euro) There you will find beauty in every direction. Walk amongst the flowers, fountains, and statues. Sit and feel the sun on your face. Take a breath and soak in the peace in the midst of a busy city.
I almost didn't come here. It's totally worth it for the views and the relaxing walk.
The First historic Italian Garden Made in Italy.
Lovely, lovely, lovely!!! They were (thankfully) nearly deserted when I visited and I enjoyed the beautiful vistas out over Firenze.
Wonderful park in Florence. Great place for a slow stroll. Check out the many cool statues throughout the gardens
