The Griffith Observatory is equipped with four fixed telescopes. With a Zeiss telescope with a 12-inch mirror, you can see the unique landscape in the night sky. Visitors can climb the eastern dome to see the moon or the planet in the night sky more closely. Or you can view these images through a telescope installed in an exhibition in the Hall of the Eye. Three solar telescopes were installed in the west rotunda. One is used to observe the sun; the other is to observe the starry sky through an H-alpha (alpha) filter (the monochromatic light observation mirror); the third shows the solar spectrum. Live images from these three telescopes can be seen at the exhibition in the Sky Hall.
