Photos of Basilica di Sant'Ambrogio

The Basilica of Sant'Ambrezzo was built between 379 and 386. The church's early name was the Sanctuary of the Martyrs, and it was built by St. Ambrogio, who also built three or four other churches around Milan. He also sleeps here. Many saints are buried in the crypt of the church, but due to the many renovations of the church, the location has been lost. After many repairs and reconstructions, the church has formed the Romanesque style of the current church in the 12th century, while the nave, two corridors and semicircular apse of the church are consistent with the beginning of the establishment.
