The Bioparco is a large zoological garden located in Rome, Italy. It lies on the historical Villa Borghese. Nature lovers will appreciate the park, which eliminates bars and fences for ditches and pits interspersed between ample green spaces. The Bioparco is home to 222 species of animals. An example of its work as a biopark is the Kleinmann's Tortoise, which has attracted professionals and visitors alike to this unique animal preserve. The Kleinmann's Tortoise is severely endangered; in 2007 they were successfully bred in captivity here after several specimens were recovered from a smuggler's suitcase.
