Photos of Chiesa del Gesù Nuovo

The history of the New Jesus Church can be traced back to the 16th century. It was originally a palace built in 1470. It was later given to the Jesuits and converted into a church. Because the Jesuits already had a Jesus church in Naples, it was named New Jesus Church. The New Jesus Church is a magnificent Renaissance building in Naples and one of the oldest churches in Naples. The exterior of the church is made of pyramid-shaped shards, which is very unique. The 17th-century spruce wood dome structure supports the vaulted ceiling. The building itself is already very eye-catching. The interior of the church is luxuriously decorated, with marble, putty and frescoes, etc. Many important events are held in this church, and many locals will come here to worship on Saturdays.
