Photos of Sandiaojiiao

Saniaojiao is located on the headland in the east of Taiwan, between today's Fulong and Toucheng. In 1626, a Spanish ship from the Philippines arrived in the waters of the northeastern corner of Taiwan, preparing to occupy the northern part of Taiwan. This place was called SanDieg, and legend has it that the San Diego Castle was built here. In 1929 and 1931, the Japanese ships Fushun Maru and Huanan Maru successively suffered shipwrecks and sank in the waters near Sandiaojiao. The Taiwan Governor's Office therefore prepared to build a lighthouse here, and the lighthouse still exists today.
