Cesme Museum Review

A museum in a beautiful town is also very distinctive. There are still some specialties with our ordinary concept museum, and its architecture is also the old building, full of history.

The Museum of Archaeology is located on the fortress of Cesme, and is still intact after several renovations. In 1965, the Museum of Archaeology of Cesme was opened to the public for the first time as a gun museum, and the guns on display are from the Topkapa Museum in Istanbul. Because the Cheshme Archaeological Museum was over-humid, the guns were transferred to the Izmir Museum and the Odemis Museum in 1984. The hall where the guns were displayed was transformed into a cultural relics exhibition hall dedicated to the excavation of the ancient city of Ildiri (Erisle), such as clay-burned statues of gods, busts, marble statues, silver and copper coins, gold frames and earthen cans.
