Wugong Temple is located on Haifu Road, Meilan District, Haikou City. It is a group of ancient buildings. It is composed of Guanjiatang, Xueyutang and Dongzhai. It is connected with Sugong Temple, Liangfubo Temple and its Pavilion, Dongyue Pavilion, Suquan Pavilion, Washing Heart, and Youxiandong in a group of cultural relics and monuments. People are used to collectively call the five public buildings. The five public buildings are the main building of the complex. It is a two-story wooden structure, a single-type bucket arch, a red building covering an area of 560 square meters, and the building is 10 meters high. It is called the "first floor of Hainan". The building was built in the fifteenth year of Qing Guangxu (1889) to commemorate the five historical dignitaries of Li Deyu (Prime Minister of the Tang Dynasty), Li Gang and Zhao Ding (all Prime Minister of the Song Dynasty), Li Guang and Hu Ying (all academicians of the Song Dynasty), who were delegated to Qiong in the Tang and Song Dynasty. The name is due to the admiration of the ancestors "five public servants", which is a key cultural relics protection unit in the country, a patriotic education base in Hainan Province and a moral education base for young people in Haikou.
