The official website of Baolian Temple has the "word of the abbot", introduced the origin: the first opium war, war-torn refugees poured into Hong Kong, Buddhism and monks also moved south, living a simple and light farming life between the mountains and forests of Hong Kong, of which Lantau "big Maopeng" is the most famous. In 1924, Ji Xiu monks came to Hong Kong from Zhenjiang Jinshan Temple, and asked the monks to hold the "Da Mao Peng" and changed the name to "Baolian Temple". Today, the Baolian Temple is full of incense, and the Buddha of Heaven has become one of the landmarks of Hong Kong.
