Walkway to the Old Volcano and Via Cruces Review

The Walkway in the Old Volcano is a hike through the jungle and along a pathway that leads past the different Stations of the Cross that depict the crucifixion. This walk was constructed to memorialise the people lost when the volcano exploded, and it even leads eventually to Mount Vulcan, which was formed out of the ensuing eruption. It's not a particularly difficult walk, however, it can be very hot and humid.

It is a volcano but not very high. The trail can be reached, and devout Catholics have placed 15 crucifixes on both sides of the road, telling many religious stories, the mountain is not very steep, and it is not very difficult to climb. It takes about an hour, and it is best to go in the evening to see the sunset.
