The Wellington Cable Car takes 612 meters long and climbs 120 meters for five minutes. From the bustling business district, board the cable car and take a bird's-eye view of Wellington city and the vast coast. The terminal is the entrance to the top of the Wellington Botanical Garden. The cable car now runs only two opposites, which can carry 100 passengers. Passengers have local residents as transportation, most of them tourists. The adult one-way ticket costs NZD 4, and the price of 25 tickets is half cheaper (1 NZD = 4.6RMB). The cable car runs every ten minutes, Monday to Friday 7:00 – 22:00, weekends and holidays start at 8:30, and end one hour in advance. In order to ensure safety, there are two manual brake devices on each car, with overload warning function settings and earthquake protection functions. There is a cable car museum at the mountain terminal, which is also worth a visit, free of charge.
