The iconic N Seoul Tower in the middle of Seoul can be reached by bus or walking but for families, taking the cable car up will be the most enticing option. Kids will enjoy the thrill of slowly making one's way up to the tower in the gondola while older members of the family will enjoy the views of the city it offers.
I loved the ride up to namsan tower.
Great short ride up to N Seoul Tower
The main reason to ride Namsan Cable car is to get up the mountain faster. It doesn't offer any additional views that you couldn't get from walking up yourself, especially since, more often than not, the car is packed with so many people, all clamoring for a spot by the window. A claustrophic's nightmare! But if you're with family, young or old folks who can't manage the walk, or dressed up nice for the restaurant, it's definitely worth it. Myeongdong, exit 3, or better yet just tell your cab driver -- even in English, they all know this one.
If you don't feel up to the hike to Seoul Tower (it's about 20-30 minutes of steps), or just want an easy panorama of the buildings and mountains of the city center, the Namsan Cable Car is the perfect solution. Zipping to the top in just a couple of minutes, it affords a lovely panorama, and if it isn't about to change your life, it's also easy on the wallet. (7,500 won roundtrip, a five-minute walk uphill from Myeongdong Station exit 3)
Always, it is beautiful city night view from the hill top
