The White City is a group of modernist-style buildings in the center of Tel Aviv. Because its exterior walls are mostly white, it is named "White City" and was recognized as a world cultural heritage in 2003. This architectural style, also known as the Bauhaus style, originated in Germany and is characterized by clean lines and asymmetry. After World War II, especially after the founding of Israel, Jews from all over the world immigrated to Israel one after another, and housing became an urgent problem to be solved. At that time, the Israelis had a beautiful vision for their new housing, not only "electric light and telephone, upstairs and downstairs", but also clean drinking water and complete sewer, and a garden in front of the door, which was also popular in Europe at that time. The modern movement of the Bauhaus architectural concept fits. Although these buildings have different shapes, they have the same concept. The floors are not high, the balconies are long and wide, and the windows are narrow. They are not only beautiful and practical, but also provide shade and warmth. They are very suitable for the Mediterranean climate of Tel Aviv. The modern Tel Aviv is regarded as a leading international metropolis in the Middle East. The light of skyscrapers has already overshadowed the small buildings of the past, and Baicheng is only some ordinary houses in the city center. But a few decades later, it is these low-rise buildings that are not grand enough to earn Tel Aviv a World Heritage status.
