欧洲的很多城市里,代表性建筑就是大教堂,维罗纳也不例外。相当于圆形竞技场的位置,维罗纳的大教堂不在城市的正中心,所以游客也相对少一些,更安静一些。Chenhutamu

Verona Cathedral, commonly known as "Duomo", is actually the city's main cathedral. It was built in the 11th century and is a combination of Romanesque and Gothic styles. The façade of the church is divided into 3 parts, consisting of a pediment and two arcades decorated with sculptures. The door is decorated with a bas-relief of the Virgin with the Embrace, below it are reliefs that symbolize the three virtues of justice, charity and hope, and the statues on the pillars beside the door are 10 prophets. The Gothic rose window was left over from the renovation of the church in the 14th century, while the Baroque elements on the upper floors were added in the 17th century. The church houses many paintings of the Renaissance, represented by the representative painter of the Venetian school - Tiziano Vecellio's "Assumption of the Virgin".
