Photos of Wuma Street

Wuma Street is a famous commercial street in Wenzhou. It is located in the southern part of the ancient city of Wenzhou. It starts from Jiefang South Road in the east and borders Cicada Street in the west. It has a total length of 424 meters and is full of various shops. When the great calligrapher Wang Xizhi was the county watchman in Yongjia (an ancient name of Wenzhou), he often drove a carriage with five horses in parallel, hence the name of Wuma Street. When Wuma Street was rebuilt, it retained the original Chinese and Western architectural style, as well as the Wuweihe non-staple food shopping mall, Jinsanyi silk cloth shop, and Laoxiangshan pharmacy. The sculptures on the whole street are very distinctive, and the design of the buildings is also very westernized.
